It's 50/50 on the oil seal. I didn't sell that many, and while you have everything off, it's worth doing it on one that is already 10+ years old. If it's fairly new the one you have fitted, then it should go back on OK.
Thanks for your order as well. I'll get it all sorted tomorrow for you.
Thanks Matt - the seal has basically been replaced within the last fortnight or so, with very few miles covered since. I was intending to do it as part of the timing chains job anyway but my Dad couldn't wait!

If you are referring to the oil pump cover gasket usually they can be reused, but sometimes come with the timing chain kits.
The crankshaft oil seal ring should be renewed as they are prone to leaking once they have been disturbed - again they usually come with the kit.
The water pumps are usually pretty reliable, however if you really want to change it whilst doing the chains I would recommend AutoVaux. (The water pump part # seems to depend on model and engine # according to EPC)
I'm sure you'll get more responses.
Hope this helps. 🙂
Kevin - thanks for the advice. Although the car has only done 87k it is coming up for 12 years old on the original chains, waterpump and thermostat, so I'm taking the chance to do the whole lot at the one go. It's been getting a bit hot in traffic recently to the extent of the fans running a lot, which suggest to me the plastic impeller has possibly sheared from the waterpump shaft or is spinning around it. Once moving again the temperature drops.
I figured that as the chains are going to be off, I might as well do the waterpump too, and if that's getting done then I'll do the thermostat and coolant change as well!
Going to be a busy few days methinks 🙂
