Cooling fans on permanent

with mine now the engines out and no ecu is plugged in
i reinstalled the rad pack a few weeks back and both fans were on full blast with the ignition on so i dont think its the coolent module

Have you tried a different lambda

Hmmm but all I've done other than that is relocate the battery but that was simply cutting the ring part off and adding an extension wire. Could it be the sc base map from courtenay?

I don't have a spare so no. But this is happening without the car running so can't see how that will do anything as lambda doesn't work until after a couple of minutes and the engine is stone cold

was the earth applied back to the chassis rail on the passenger side by the coolent module
i really cant think of anything as ive only ever had problems with the a/c fan when i fitted that cheapo slim one

Op com has decided not to work on my computer now, so will try to reinstall it, but will use the Launch kit at work and see what that says.

Yes mate that was the first thing I tried, I removed it and cleaned up and re fitted. I may give courtenay tomorrow as it's a possibility their map has triggered something.

I have ordered a new GM CTS as a precaution and handy to keep a new spare.

I seem to recall having this happen on the Zafira, but I can't for the life of me recall how I sorted it. I certainly didn't replace any parts!!! I remember fiddling with the plugs to the fans, disconnecting the battery again (I think I had just fitted a new one) and eventually it stopped and worked normally. It may be you have to run the engine to get it up to temp to relearn the control module.

Certainly a strange one :mad:

Nothing off the engine loom controls the cooling module does it? As that's the only other change I've made by adding a vectra b engine loom.

I will disconnect and take for a drive etc and see if it re learns

I haven't done anything else with it, I've got a new GM CTS to stick on as a service item and I've bought another cooling module and loom so will give them a try and report back
