Cooling fans on permanent

wired the new Spal fans up and used the old resistors and when the ignition is turned on the fans kick almost straight in, thought the resistor was faulty and changed it for one from the scrappy and still the same. Fans won't go off even after ignition is off and key removed, even after 5 minutes they were still going. Only way I can stop them is to remove the plug on each fan (coolant and aircon). If I remove the plug it stops but if I re join it it kicks back in again unless left for over 5 minutes. I can't see what else could be causing this, tried removing CTS plug to see if it altered it and it didn't.

All parts worked as they should before so stumped to as what's changed.

I'm going to try and test the resistors tomorrow but wanted to know if it could be anything else?

Yeah the Orange rad light with a fan in the middle is now on permanent

Fans are working in emergency mode.
Not sure, if there is fault and it needed to be cleared, or problem still exists.
However, its worth to look up in ECM diagnostics.

I will plug opcom in on Monday and see if that can come up with anything

Lambda haven't been touched at all and worked fine before I bolted charger on. Why would lambda bring on cooling fan out of interest?

It must be some kind of fail safe,

Did you start up without exhaust connected ?

The only other thing that crossed my mind is map sensor

Yeah. If there would be problem with lambda, exhaust warning light would be on. This time it's the electronic cooling system warning light.

All I've done is added a supercharger kit exhaust was still attached. Change cooling fans is the only other change.

I have a spare map sensor but can't see it being that but I'm all up for trying (y)

have a look at the coolent ecu with op com and see what its doing 🙂 some functions are in the ecu page tho

I will have a look mate, I had a fault before where when the fans kicked in at temp the light on dash came on but fans went off after.

I may see how much a second hand coolant module and loom is just to rule it out

Can any Astra g z22se cooling module be used on my car or does it have to be a certain code? May just buy one and try and rule out as there pretty cheap and I'm running out of time for mapping and track day

I think there shouldn't be any problems..

I haven't tested it yet but wanted a spare just in case

When i unplugged my cts this is exactly what happens. Dash light and fans on (and stay on). Only difference was the gauge didnt work.

If unplugging the cts made no difference it makes me think it might be a good place to start?

I've tried two old spare cts's and still no change, I've put old fans back on and still no joy. Gauge works fine.

It's almost like a relay is stuck open and giving it permanent power
