Has Powerflow cooked my ecu??!!

tried a few things with mine today and found it only flares on acceleration/up shifting if you depress the clutch. so must be related to the pedal switch?

Mine does it whenever you depress the clutch Might have a look and see if i have another throttle switch as this is something i haven't changed yet and it must be a ' wearing ' part. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the cat, as this is the only other thing that was changed when the exhaust was done. Have got a spare from a Skyline that i'll adapt to test that theory.......if the snow stops!!!!

In the past I have had some years problems with my M100 Élan with rising revs. First I thought it was related to long term fuels values because every time the battery was disconnected, the revs began. Now I was forced to push a new battery in. I have choosen a bigger one. Before I have taken a smaller one than stock. And presto... The problem is gone! 🙂

We have talked about OBDTuner in the past. This would be another pro for it, with no additional cost, if you flash more than 1Ecu. I only don't knew whether it is open to Vecs or is VX220 only...

Hi Don, havent had any time to get back into this due to work, weather and man-flu reasons. The battery on mine is as big as it will fit and also a calcium one too. Would still be intetested to know what the 'normal' state of the clutch switch should be as OPCOM shows mine as active when up and deactive when depressed. Now if this is suposed to work the other way around, i could understand the flaring revs on mine.....but i simply cant see how mine can be wrong as its right to the diagram. When the weather picks up, i'll pop to the local yard, strip a car of all its sensors and go through it all again.

Cheers Carl, this is as mine is and the opposite of what Courtenays say it should be. Hmmmmm, well at least i can rule that out then ;-)

i may be wrong but i found that pic in the folder
can you enable cruise control ? if you can then the above image is right
i had an issue where i had bent the metal that holds the clutch switch when i fitted the climate control and i lost cruse control as the switch was giving the wrong reading it never affected the running of the car in any way not no function from the curse buttons

I have lost cruise, but i do have the spanner light with a code for the brake light switch. However, ive changed the switch and still the same. Need to get the meter on to it. This has been like this for a while so dont think this has any bearing on my current fault. Brake lights work fine by the way.

theres 2 switches inside the brake switch one for the lights and one for the CC i think

now I have new software the problem has gone from my car, no clutch switch or brake switch now.
have you had any luck sorting yours out yet?

Haven't actually looked at it yet, been too cold and wet and i've had man flu too. Am gonna put a cat replacement pipe in ( when i've made one ) next to see what happens. Come the summer i intend to change the complete loom as i have climate and hids waiting to go in. Glad yours is sorted......looks like the problem lies with these switches somewhere then.
