A lot of people who do custom maps should be able map the net Ecu to work, I know someone that probably could and he travels, he would do a fresh map from ground up to suit perfectly.

Compression wise as it's not much difference could you not skim the head a little more or use a custom head gasket?

Compressions close enough @[deleted] says so at the moment the engines staying in 1 piece.

@[deleted] coyld you find out 100% if your mate can do it and roughly how much it will cost.

I dont want to buy the other car untill im 100% sure it can be done. Thanks alot

Hi i have been told to contact you about a map by simon at powR remap.
i have a 2.2 vectra C z22se, i am converting to a turbo from a z20net vectra and all other parts to go with it like inlet manifold, injectors, intercooler etc etc
i have a full car for the conversion so i have the z20net ecu and loom(we are thinking that will be the ecu we need to map)
we may need a complete new map from the ground up but im not sure, but if we do get this to work it will definitely get more work from it, i will be offering a conversion and fitting service for all the parts and can get you to do all the maps.

In theory it should be possible to get the ECU to run the engine. It may take a lot of hacking etc, but as long as the ECU has control of the injectors and can still regulate timing and boost etc, theres no reason why it shouldnt work.

so looking good, if anyone can tell me if the ecu does what hes thinking we should be good??

If all the correct sensors are connected to the NET ecu then I can not see why it would throw up any problems.. in theory it should be just a map to suit the slight differences in comp and cc

So in theory if I bolt everything up and the sensors are all the same(or swapped over)

It could run roughly without a map(probably bring some lights up on the dash).

you will just need to be sure which trigger wheel the z20net uses, think its a 60-2. but you can get one from webcon or if you strip the crank out you could swap the 2L one on to the 2.2L.
ive got a spare webcon one here if you need it?

Webcon? Can I get crank in without taking engine out?

no, you would have to strip the engine to replace stock znet trigger wheel on to z22se crank.
webcon one bolts to front pulley so be ok as first stage to get you running.

never used mine and now don't need it as I have the trigger wheel from the B207R for a itb z22se when I get round to building one, plus find a car to put it in! :LOL:

I like the sound of it being fitted without removing the engine, id have to do it on the road outside the house n neighbours like me enough allready, banging n grinding n wellding at all hours of an evening in the garage on the mini.
