z22se 12.0:1?? where did he get that from? I think he's talking YH there not Z22SE, the SE is only 10.0:1 and the NET is 9.5:1 so not a lot of difference!
RS tuning are good but I don't think they can get in to the ecu on the Z22SE, it needs a live map not a flash map!

Remember the trigger wheel isn't the same on the Z22SE comparing to the NET so the ecu isn't a direct plug and play.. you'll need a NET trigger wheel making on the belt pulley!

I drive past that place every day. They used to have Vec-C forum meets there.

As you know the Vec C z22SE ecu is different to the none vec c z22se ecu and from my experiance tunnwersw say yes they can tune it but when the penny drops about the different ecu's they cant.

If you could just pair the z20net ecu to the car then thats got to be the way to go imo. You be wise to contact one of the guys who does all the tech2 stuff on the forum or facebook page as they wil,l. have specific knoll,age of the Canbus vec C specific problems and what other modules like the CIM you may need to make it a plug and play ECU swap.

Re some of your other questions that you mentioned, the blocks of the z22se and the Z20NET are both the same (bar the odd little thing) Both manifolds from the NET will actually bolt directly to your 2.2 but you'd want the NET's head.

There was a guy on here who did the same conversion a few years back but it was in an Astra so didnt have the same problems with the ECU's.

Its far stronger and more meat to play with if your going to port it. Im sure Karl will give you the exact rundown of the differences, but im sure the coils are different, 4 instead of 2. Im sure there'll be small mods you'll need to do to both but if your getting a full NET engine then you may as well make it the best you can if you already have the part.

The thing with the car im thinking of getting has jumped a few teeth so the head could be ruined.

I didnt really want to take the head off at this point.

I wanted to get it running as a z22se turbo and then move on to modifying it later to make it bigger and better. With the internals not wanting to go much past 270/285bhp I didnt want to push it to far anyway.

I cant afford to go silly, this is why Im hopefully buying a full car for peanuts.

Im also wanted to get maximum profit back out of the other car, n with it looking like carl maybe having the block and gear box I will look after him because hes abit sore at the minute and im sure he would look after me if I need a hand aswell, so I was hopeing to sell the head if its in good nick(or save for future bhp).

why not use the trigger wheel from the z20net on the z22se crank and then the z20net ecu? build bottom end with forged parts do the job once so if you do decide to go bigger on power the internals will take it.
remember seeing a z20net in TV a few years ago, and was mapped with a few other tweaks to just over 200bhp from standard 175bhp so there are tuners who can map the z20net ecu some where??

I cant afford forged stuff n im not massive on power, I think 200ishbhp with the turbo will feel plenty enough for me. Then if I do want to go further I can go bigger injectors, polish and port head and bigger intercooler.

I just want a YES or NO answer that it will work with out destroying the bank. But no tuners will help.

But I do like your thinking @[deleted]. Thats how I want to do it with all the parts from the other car onto my engine and just a map, job done.

So are we saying trigger wheel off the NET engine onto the SE. all turbo n manifolds, injectors n intercooler piped up etc n net ecu n loom. N a remap. But would it run ok without a map but throw errors up or would it need a base map? Which nobody has

You may have to have a trigger wheel made on the external, bolted to the belt pulley... like when a z22se crank is used in a NET block
You can use al the NET manifolds, injectors etc but they won't run to the power levels I mentioned earlier....you need the B207R parts for that

Not that im bothered about them yet. But could be a future mod if it works.

if you only want 200ish bhp then why not start with a z20net, keep costs down then build up a hybrid z22se/z20net motor?
think bsr did maps for z20net but don't quote me on that!
must be ways around you ecu problem?
piggy back ecu from more easy to tune car?
engine swaps are being done on corsa d's now and been around for a while so people must have over come multiple controller issuse's?

2 a z22se turbo in a vectra c hasnt been done. I can move upwards after its running with the net head or b207r head, polish n port that and can go with b207r turbo n bigger injectors,
N a big intercooler etc etc but then your talking forged again so more n more money. No point bangin a z20net in, it would be easier and probably spend the same money just buying a 2.0 turbo vectra and sell mine
