so here is the start to the 2nd engine for @[deleted]
it will be a close replica of the #1 build 🙂

it started as a conversation at pvs then today i found a lorry parked in the village with an engine on the back lol

delivered at 3pm and stripped by 6pm

the top came off and it was all nice and clean golden color inside

parts collecting

cams, rockers and tappets out

head off all looking good for 85k

the pistons

the bores look good to that must be the oil squirters keeping them lubed

more cleanliness in the bottom

its clean here to but now ive looked at the pics i could swear the balancer shafts were out of time

more parts in bags

timing gear out

also sourced a 2.2 crank and block thats to be stripped tomorrow to check condition

z22se short block picked up last night ready for strip down for the crank

55.99x on one end

55.99x the other end 🙂

will get a full 3d measure of the crank and then see how it looks 🙂

if all the parts were here it would of been done friday lol
it is all down to funding now the other parts required are all new everything that needed sourcing i have
its to be ready for october so it can be installed and and then rolling roaded in november 🙂

had a closer look at the crank and then polished the main journals with a scotch pad and carb cleaner 🙂

big end journals look quite good

the mains look better now they have been polished a bit 🙂

and just so you guys know im not cheating ive put a * next to the number thats displayed on the micrometer

batcave cleared out and the new block moved in

the 2.2 crank was placed in a lower engine block with lithium grease on the journals to keep them tip top

2.2 thermostat housing

balancer shaft spares to make a del kit with

sump was removed nice and clean apart form the moth on the right side lol

heres a 2.2 sump in comparison to the 6l saab sump

lower cradle off lol whats the need for new bearings thought this was supposed to have done 85k

old style crank with weights missing ""pics shit""

more block cleaning removed the rest of the gasket

and then wiped the honing tool down the bores to clean the crap off and even the top rim where the 2.0 rings never hit

going to wire brush the outside and picked up the paint for it today 🙂

also cleaned all the sealant out the groves

well 2 different tools and the same measurement it must be right 🙂

still have one side to clean

heres the other side 🙂

core plug for the turbo oil drain hole

nearly fitted

end cap for the inlet cam

think im now waiting on parts lol
