MAJOR gearbox leak ?. HELP!!!

Got my engine out and back in with the gearbox and everything still attached. Only unplugged the loom, pulled shafts out, disconnected aircon & zorst..

did you pull it out of top with a crane or did you slide it out the bottom like carl said ?

Straight out the top mate.

If you're going to drop the subframe anyway just remove the gearbox on its own, not sure what taking the engine out as well would achieve. Support the engine with a jack and you can probably get away with not having a crane. A lot less hassle too

right guys last question. gonna hit 2 birds with 1 stone. my mate needs a new engine as timing chain snapped. so was gonna have his box and was going to go to northamtoshire on friday to take an engine out of a car someone stripping for his car. question is if both me and jacko go for the new engine how long is it going to take us to drop out the bottom and also if we remove the complete engine with box already on can i still unbolt the aircon and zip tie it up ar do i need to have all gas removed from system. thanks again

just on with work now and ive just pulled drivers side driveshaft out and when i got under car i noticed slightly to the right of the driveshaft hole i can see another hole what looks like its the cogs out of box i can see. was just wondering if this is normal or if this is the cause of the leak ?. thanks

thats the fly wheel int it? im not sure you should be able to se that or not.

Yeah that's normal, remember to remove that black plate as it can snag on the flywheel as your trying to pull the gearbox off

got everything up and running but need urgent help please. ive bled the clutch wit eezibleed kit the one you attach to spare wheel for pressure. dont no if ive done it right as was driving mint and normal for the test drive until i got home then pressure went in the clutch again then couldnt select a gear. then bled it again and same happened except this time it re pressured on itself then lost it then got it ect ect... have i done it right or do i need to bleed again ?. thanks

Still has air in the system, depending on how much you lost you may need to re fill resovoir and bleed again.

right guys thanks so much for all the help. im glad to say the job has been completed and woop woop no leak. car is up and running fully and all ok. :-). ill post some pics later.
i ended getting car on axel stands and just dropped thr box out. obviously removing sub frame and exhaust. took me 2 and hald days to complete with a friend helping the second and third day. looking at the job again id be able to do it in a day with help or 1 and half on myself. if anyone is planning doing the same job or doing a clutch ill po through what i did and with pics. thanks again guys

thanks guys. yeah was going to do pvs. but all depends how quickly i get the car finished. ive got a few planned mods including wheel refurb in black lowered window tints and im on with a centre console build and hopefully all be sorted in next week. :-)

dont worry if its not finished, i got odd coloured wheels at the min. we are having a convoy down so u can join with that if u want cos your not to far away. nice 1

I'm told I probably have to replace my clutch in the near future on my Vec C with an Z22SE (ofcource) engine. I'm definitely interested in how you did the job. I don't know if I'll up to the task, but I'm currently trying to find out all information that I can find to see if it's doable. Do you still have the pics and could you describe the steps you've taken? Thx.
