MAJOR gearbox leak ?. HELP!!!

no o -ring on the slave i just looked

previous comments say i can get to o ring from outside gearbox. its on top where hydraulic pipe goes in. hopefully itll just be that.

its all mega confusing lol. gonna check everything on weekend. if i cant see no visible leaks on outside then ill just replace clutch and csc on bank holiday weekend. also if it makes any difference ive noticed gears are starting to get harder to put in gear. but clutch not slipping. thanks again guys

Off the top of my head I can't remember I think it's on the part that sticks up out the gear box. I won't be able to check until Monday when I'm back in my workshop

Mine leaked just out the bottom of the box and that was because the slave cylinder had gone (common on these boxes) Did you check the brake fluid level?

also i checked the brake fluid level. its not full to top of bottle but is pretty full

right ive posted the video of the car. ive looked at the top of the gearbox and could see what i think is the hydraulic fluid pipe going to the csc. as you can see its easily moved with little to no pressure applied. although i cant really see if this is the location of the leak. it looks too dry around the area for the amount of fluid that is on floor. and definitely noticed that the gear changes are getting harder. :-(

yours is metal mines the plastic one and it does move a little the pipe clips in to it

They move loads as it's only a plastic bush holding the pipe in place so that's normal. That isn't the cause of you problem then if there is no fluid around there. Can you confirm what fluid is on floor? Is it clear or is it red? Sounds to me like the slave has gone and if so that's a box off job I'm afraid

thanks for advice. fluid on floor is definitely clear ish not red. so agree its gotta be the slave.
ive now got 2 options fix with new slave and clutch. or ive put in a swap deal to a guy with a 54 plate vectra 2.2 sri he knows about the leak and he agrees its slave. hes a mechanic so is not too fussed about the work needed. the vectra is a cat c in 2008 but now like new again. no problems with car apart from drop links as its lowered and he said the central locking is (dodgy) dont work. it unlocks with key both driver front and back but not passenger front or back and same to lock. i know its off topic but was wondering if this could be something more sinister ?. thanks will keep posted.

Seems a bit extreme getting rid of the car for a slave cylinder problem. Personally I'd keep the coupe as it's a better car.

had a look at the car today. decide im going to keep the coupe and fix the slave. :-). will post pics next weekend.
