That is just something you will have to overcome
The biggest issue I had with OBD was once IAT reached 70 degrees the software was retarding ignition and adding more fuel cost horse powers but this is to keep engine safe
Ps this was at 305 HP and in a vx so no direct air flow on to charger manifold
And a M62 & 7500 rpm

Yeah intake temp, that will be the hardest part to overcome but flat floor and ducting will be a few additions to help channel air in and out, I already have and done all available cooling mods. I think eventually the charge cool will go and have a intercooler instead as my intake temps on my 400-450bhp Corsa never gets hot

You are right about cooling

I've never had any issues on the road and think to honest you would struggle ever to on the road

On track is a diffrent story,
If you not hard on the throttle you should be hard on the brakes

Car is under maximum load load 100% of the time and temps soon get high,
Road driving you would never see any kind of reaction no matter how hard you think your driving it
Unless your cooling is nothing

Is that the action day? I am a member on both but don't really use either. What date is it? I'm at Bedford in feb and Cadwell park in March so looking for a april date (y)

There really is zero comparison between road and track totally different animal.

thats if i ever get my car done i would come to lol altho its a daily driver not a track car lol

I couldnt bring myself to take my road car on a track.

I think I could be persuaded to take the mini on but I dont think I would drive it like a mad man(just incase I broke it)

No matter how good the road is you will never be pushing the car as hard as on track.

On track is where you get to see how good your car is and enjoy it. My corsa is an all out track car but I still enjoy using the coupe

Finally got some time to work on the car, it's off the road at the moment as until the supercharger is fitted and working I don't have a daily car.

Quick strip down

Removed the front mount to fill with sikaflex

Replaced the middle CV joint on the equal length as it was knackered

Then fitted up the charger kit, had to move a few things as the loom came off a vectra, modded the battery tray and made a new bracket, modded the battery cables and added a relay and fuse for the charge cooler water pump, tried to tuck it all in as neat as possible. Just need to drill a hole in the bulkhead to route the wideband gauge wires and boost gauge vacuum.

Started to mod the cooling system, I've fitted the merc sprinter aircon fans using it's original housing, I've done this so when the car finally goes full time track car I will remove the aircon system completely, as the second fan can't fit due to the air con pipes, so once removed I will be able to bolt the second fan back on.

With it removed

And finally.......fitted the warning sticker

Hopefully get some time next week to work on it and finish it all off

Treated the car to some handling mods, adjustable rear ARB and a front ARB as I found under hard cornering on track there was quite a bit of body roll

i think the rarb is one of the best additions to the astra g's handling that and combined with powerflex bushings 🙂

Tbh I don't know why I haven't bought it sooner, I bought the adjustable one so I can set it to its hardest setting on track so I can use it to bring the back end round on bends. I'm planning on going for solid rear syphical bushes once full time track car so haven't bothered with powerflex stuff straight away.
