Differences between fuel regulators on Vectra B and C

Hi guys.
I have a problem with my z22se Opel Vectra b (12.2000)
Hard starting of warm engine, smell of fuel.
As i undesrtands The problem is here (1):
fuel flowing through this pipe through throttle to intake manifold. And it begins to smells, when going here (2) between plastic pipe and throttle.
When I've tried to buy the new one (0815528), i've got a problem. Can't find it. Original only, and two ore more weeks for shipping.
So, tried to find the regulator from Vectra C. Found it, but again - it's different (0815543)! The difference is this pipe, where i have a fuel instead of air (as i think)!
So the question is - what this pipe is for? Can i change the regulator for one from OVC, or it's really necessary? Or, maybe, i can just kill it?
Sorry for possible mistakes, English is not my native language.

Fuel pressure regulator is faulty

That pipe relies on vacuum from the air intake, and there should be no fuel what soever being sucked into the inlet manifold

the vectra C is static fuel pressure

FPR part is 9198979

So it's no way but search and buy an original... Too bad... BTW, FPR gives nothing ((( Original only.

By the way, maybe regulator from saab b207/Z20net/nel will fit?

and the last (i hope) question - at the nearest topic: "Screw in air intake pipe" - this pipe just blocked. What kind of mod is there? Maybe, i should do the same - Just block the pipe? What will happen?

just buy a fuel rail off ebay for like £12 ive got 2 knocking about somewhere

I'll buy the new one or rail, but for now, as I've read in this topic https://z22se.co.uk/threads/fuel-pressure-mod-with-modified-inlet-systems.5580/ i'll just block the pipe. I hope, this will help.
Or i'm misunderstanding, and this pipe should be plugged at another hole?

you still have to connect the pipe from the fpr to the barb on the inlet manifold
that link above shows your but if you getting fuel thru the vacuum tube then the regulator has failed and needs replacing
the mod increases fuel line pressure but once the ecu learns the new configuration it just lowers the fuel injector duty cycle so you only see the gain for the 1st 20-30miles

different fuel rail for the saab depended on the model

you would need a z20net rail to be sure of a matching fpr the rail has blocks and wont fit the z22se head with out injector insulators but you can just remove the fpr and fit it to your rail

so, as i understand, if i will take only the regulator from z20net it wil fit and work ok ))))) (of course it should looks like my fpr) This will make my searchnig easier ))

yes the z20net one will fit the z22se rail
the z22se uses a non standard size fpr i bought a bosch one only to find it would not fit
i have all 3 types
the z22se astra g / vec b
the z22se vec c (non return system)
and the bosch type as used in the z20let engine

z22se on the left and the bosch type on the right you can see the size difference 🙂

last time i asked at the vx dealer they wanted £180 for the full fuel rail with injectors :s

as i understand on b207 there was more than one fpr, so i'll try to find the needfull one (i wil search for used, not new). But i'll pay more attention to find z20net one

Thanks for help, guys! Found a working one from OVB.
Problems solved:
1) Bad start on warm engine (hot and cold - ok)
2) Trying to stop, when a cooling fan starts working
3) Gas smell
I'm happy now )))
