5M1THY Sweet I hammered the removal tool on wound it with the impact driver for ten seconds hit it with a hammer again then the impact driver got them out using this method it took about ten minutes to get all 4 out 😃
5M1THY Lol they do come up it's the 19in most people seem to want though mine are 18s and they go for quite a lot of money tbh.. I'm going to be looking for some 17ins soon as one of mines cracked unless I can find one wheel for less than £100 I'm not paying that for one wheel lol
milo I want some 18's but I'll need to raise the coupe. So coilovers then wheels. I would bite the bullet as your van looks so dam good on those 18's!
MikeS why do c**ts use impact guns on locking wheel nuts just lost a set because of this ! heavy duty chisel and a big hammer 🙁 i had original vauxhall with the free moving outside shell to stop clamping them, next time use the cheap halfrauds ones
5M1THY Yeah that is the problem I'm having I've been looking at every set of 5 stud wheels vauxhall do and the only ones I think might look better is the insignia vxr wheels but there 19s.. I do like these wheels and would recommend getting them with 215/35 tyres there's no scrubbing at all even with the van loaded with logs :-)
5M1THY Yeah how low is your Astra mines about 60mm at the front there's no gap and it doesn't rub anywhere I do notice the power steering pump is abit weak with big wheels but it might just be mine

Tbh if I was to find the key the wheel nuts aren't really damaged I could definatly use them again.

5M1THY ^^ you know this... What's ever been wrong with a torque wrench? milo said: Mine lowered 60mm on front bud. That should be fine mines on coilovers around 60mm at the front and 50ish at the back being my work van I put a lot of weight in it 215/35 tyres and adjustable drop links and it doesn't rub or anything it's not nice on them narrow speed bumps or pot holes but other than that no problems at all :-) yours would look naughty with vxr rims :-)
5M1THY Got myself some new drop links and a rear brake caliper tool now I just need new brakes all round fresh bushes and a new wheel then it will be the engine next :-)
Matt Any reason you've gone for metal droplinks? I've seen loads of threads on various VX sites where the metal ones were worse than the plastic ones, and swapped them back.

Yeah I've heard good and bad things about both types tbh but my reason was because the current ones fitted are exactly the same and I've had no problems with them, my knocking noise is my track rod ends and a top mount I'm only really changing them for piece of mind.
Matt Can't argue with that :-) I stuck with plastic ones, as they are just so cheap to replace, I treat them as consumables.
5M1THY Yeah the plastic ones are a lot cheaper mine were nearly £50 for both.. If they wear out really quickly or are in anyway not worth the extra money I won't bother again but being a van and possibly abit heavier than cars and coupes metal ones just sounds stronger lol
5M1THY Yeah if these ones turn out to be no good I shall be going to the 22se shop and purchasing them ones. I've finished work for today now so ill be doing them shortly :-)
