grind spare crank pulley flat

fit dial and find tdc with dti then mark 0 (tdc) with pointer

make or find a plate to mount the magnetic base on for the 2nd dti

go cross eyed at the cam spec sheet for about 20mins
key numbers
110 centerline
2- btdc(open) 38 abdc (close)
will quote these further down

turn crank to 110* atdc

fit 2nd dti to valve rocker inlet side
undo cam bolt and moved the cam to find its highest point and set to 0 nip up cam sprocket bolt (saab sprokets)

now for the exhaust
the numbers
114 center line
40 bbdc (open) 8- atdc (close)
will quote below

turn the crank to 114*

mount dti on the rocker on the ex side
undo sprocket bolt and find the 0 point then tighten the bolt up

ex lobe at its apex

checking
inlet 2- btdc (open) or should that be about to open 🙂

check!

inlet 38* abdc (close) or closed ?
