a distributor well yes and no

the trigger wheel provides information to the ecu for when to fuel when to spark and at what point the pistons are at in the 4 strokes of the combustion cycle 🙂
each notch in the trigger wheel represents a point in the rotation the ecu can work out and as mike said its all feed tru the crank sensor to the ecu 🙂
a distributor would just send a spark from a coil thru the spark plug lead at the right time to make the engine fire

dead stop
back at work now but got no funds to buy parts 🙁

ordered
new crank sensor
plugs for the rear oil gallery
o-rings for the injector insulators
and water pump plug

i need more people to commit to getting them done and coming over 🙂

put the cams back in today even used the right kind of sealant on the end caps 🙂

its the same anaerobic sealant as on the supercharger so had some in stock 🙂

both cams in and fitted with z22se sprockets
put the timing tool on to hold them in the right place 🙂 at some point the inlet cam will be swapped for a z22se one

vacuum pump reinstalled without the bracket i then spent 15 mins looking for the cover to the inlet cam in the box of bits for the engine
then i remember that it did not come with one lol

found a z22se one in the box of spares cleaned it up and fitted it

then found a clip on for the vacuum pump this will get used for the brake servo with a one way valve

trigger wheel should be like this even tho this is not accurate in the location the sensor should go to notch 5 when the engine is at TDC on #1 cylinder

just got the alloy top cover for the coil pack off ebay £15 shipped 🙂

tried to call me mate about powder coating the rocket cover but hes not available 🙁

problem is im now at the point where every day im getting pain from different areas think the work load is to much :S

that's still just the head 🙂 i just put it on top of the block so it was at working height 🙂 going out later to do some work with a drill to the block 🙂

went to B&Q finally got dad to come in the car lol 🙂
come back home with these 6mm and 8mm alloy rod

z22se(L61)/z22yh/z20net(b207-LSJ)/a20nft all have open cylinders around the waterways
this can be an issue for running high boost as they break out into the waterways the same as a z20let would over 350hp (even tho some people refuse to admit it 🙂)
heres the ecotec block with no support

heres how they can go lol this is a rare case but why take the risk 🙂
its not like you have to spend £700 supporting the cylinder liners 🙂 not unless you go darton liners

the LE5 block the ecotec gen3 has added support from the factory so i will try to replicate it

they both look like they will do the job 🙂 i used the 5800 as it is whats on there to start with and i have a tub from rebuilding the supercharger as thats all thats ment to be used for the charger close face tolerances and all that 🙂

with your crank sensor could you not get the crank pulley machined and use an external sensor. keep the 60-2 trigger wheel on the crank incase you decide to go stand alone ecu in the future?
