oil jet and balancer chain

Hey guys. Well finally got round to doing my timing chain. I have received my kit and went to fit it today, the only problem is the oil jet is missing and the one on the car is knackered due to a slack chain.
Is it true the oil jets are not supplied separate anymore? Even from a Vauxhall dealer?

If not does anyone have one I can buy or know where I could get one?
I've emailed the company I bought it from but it doesn't sound like I'm going to get it sent to me :/ the guy doesn't seem very helpful so far!!

Also...
Im only just able to afford the timing chain at the min so can't do the balancer chain. Do I "have" to do anything to it or can I just fit the timing chain and leave the balancer alone. There is nothing wrong with it. Im just not sure if I have to turn it or something so it works with the timing chain or if its fine where it is.
The PDF I've seen that I think is a sticky one here doesn't mention anything about it.

The oil jet is part of the kit. GM and FAI both supply it as part of the full kit, if it's not there, and the seller isn't helping.....report them or file a claim.

Mind if I ask where you bought it from?

Please don't think less of me for this lol I need to save as much as I can at the min n I need my car to see my kids. I'm having bad times right now. Anyways I'm not here to try for sympathy Lol

I bought it from eBay, brand new and unopened from a business. The kit looks good quality and exactly the same as what I've taken off. The jet is meant to be supplied with that kit.

I know I can report him etc but that won't get me a new jet n I really can't buy a whole new kit.

I don't normally buy these things from eBay but I was in a rush n like I say needed to save money. I guess its backfired.

I can speak to VX tomorrow and see if they can supply the oil jet on it's own for you.

I'm going to phone stone acre tomorrow as that's all I have in my town for Vauxhall parts. They were closed when I realised. When I searched online for one I found posts saying there not separate anymore.

May I message you tomorrow dinner or something with how I'm getting on and also how your getting on?

I don't mean to be a pain, I'm just desperate to see my kids and could really do without forking out for travel expenses.

Also, in relation to the balancer chain, is anything at all needed to be done to it.

I'm learning steadily. Hopefully one day I'll be in a position to help others.a few years ago I couldn't even wire a stereo n now thanks to guys like you and Google I'm keeping money in my hands n out of garages n learning along the way.

Oh just one more thing. As my guide and tensioner broke being the reason for the fail. I'm going to take the oil sump off to check for fragments. Is it much of a job on these engines? It doesn't look as simple as most and can't find a guide anywhere to make sure I do things right.

I'm fairly confident I can do it after all its only a sump but having not done it before on this car ya never know if there's that one important thing that could be missed n mess things up.

will drop it in the post 1st class tomorrow 🙂 its clean and i just filled it with wd40 and blew it out with 115 psi of air from the compressor

Fantastic! Just popped in my head....are you saying the markings on the balancer chain and gear need to be in the same place/in line with the markings on the crankshaft gear and chain?

If so...will just turning the balancer work or is it an undo n realign job?

Soz for all the questions I just want to make sure its right asyou know timing problems are BIG problems

my advice is if you have not moved or taken the balance chain off leave it as it is then when you fit the main chain it will be in line because of the keyway on the crank shaft
if you have removed the balancer chain it will need timing up before fitting the main chain
if that lot makes sense 🙂

sump is a pain in the ass lots of jacking with the engine mount off

And no I havent touched the balancing chain one bit, only inspected for damage but everything is OK.

That's good then. It just lines up when the timing crankshaft gear is timed right with the chain markings?! Like you say because of the key..

I used the same style pdf for the chain. Doesn't look too bad but as I suspected there is a tightening sequence. Surprise to see sealent though n not a gasket

Massive Thanks carlos! Oil jet received today as you promised. Just got to remove this broken bolt then try again. i gave up yesterday,it was raining and I got a little cross so for the safety of the car I packed up my tools n went home lol
