sure is getting expensive to fit an aftermarket headunit bring back the days of iso din plug and no can bus lol

Rushy i have a bunch of wires leading up to my cigi lighter.....could i take a feed from any of these?

I deffo have to swap the red & yellow about on the head unit harness to get "ignition permanent" what benefit will i get from taking a feed from cigi lighter

Yeah so when side lights on, the stereo dims.
I have got everything apart from the patch lead forgot to order when ordering can-bus quadlock doh it should come tomoz though 🙂 looks pretty straight forward.....cant wait lol

The saga goes on, halfruads cannot get a anthracite fascia adaptor until middle of nxt week.

Yup big time lol dont have the cash to buy brand new but the one on gumtree only £120 offered £90 just waiting on the seller getting back in touch, i am willing to go to a ton, if he does not go for it, i will stick to plan A,B or C i forget which one i am on 🙂

Big black wire to the cigi lighter is what I used for ignition live.

Instead of cutting the wires I just made a little loom to in between the standard plug and the cigi lighter with a t piece off in the added loom from the crimp terminals.

Or to do it a different way I have a roof flip down screen wired into the door shut fuse box with one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-Add-a-Circuit-Fuse-Tap-Piggy-Back-Standard-Blade-Fuse-Holder-12-24-Volt-/190860703731?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET&hash=item2c702f37f3

You just need to find an ignition live in there, put the old fuse back in the holder to protect the original circuit and then add a fuse to protect your new circuit, you can see the piggy back has two fuse holder to do this so its a very neat solution.

PS dont copy the placement in this pic as I cant remember if thats a constant or ignition as I fittid it all years ago.

Just to let you know finally I have stereo installed (y) 10min job although I never did the illumination wire yet, ps you do not have to swap round the red and yellow with the new CTSVX002.2 to save the preset radio channels but I still have to turn key to position II to get power

I would advise anyone who is doing it to read these guides from posted in this thread

Remember to turn ignition off when installing as you don't want to blow a fuse like I did :oops:
