CD30 Removal

Hi I removed the my head unit today as I wanted to clean the lens on my cd player

bought the removal keys from fleabay for £1.15 they were not a perfect fit as you can see

Push removal keys in about half way

Push your hands towards the door's and pull
,
After a little bit of wiggling it released, only took a minute

Just thought I would add a side on pic so you can see what your trying to do

I also found the cheap release pins don't do a very good job. I had to wiggle and angle them to get a decent grip on the inside

Me to Matt but it did the job, unfortunately cleaning the lens on my cd's from skipping, I might have to buy a 2nd hand unit and put in the cd player only

just buy a lens cleaning cd 🙂
and some plastic polish for the discs

been there done that, its playin sittin in the drive which is an improvment, but as soon as i go over a bump its skip skip skip :mad:

i used to get that from the 4 disc changer in the glove box they have low play time storage

thanks Carl but might have to wait a few weeks, money is tight just now, if I was to buy these would I have to buy a different cage ?

FFS bought the stereo £50 + the fascia plate( was only a tenner) + the harness £25 + another lead for the antenna/radio i think another £10, money gone from bank and now showing order is cancelled for some strange reason 🙁

i would at least with them you can alway go round the the local branch and break stuff till they sort you out 🙂

Tbh was down there this morning for a look & they tried to give me an ex-display for same money which had scratches all over it.
I told him i could get a brand new 1 off tinternet, i had to show them on my fone b4 they believed me, shocking!

Hey can anyone on here tell me what wiring harness i would need from looking at this pic

I was told from halforfds that it is the pc2-85-4 but looking on ebay it could also be pc2-04-4

I think mine is a quadlock and it has a lever type thing to connect/disconnect....Help Please

Just to add you may not find an Ignition Live in the plug, the Vec's mostly tend to have a Constant and a canbus switch wire. To get an ignition live you need to take a feed from the Cigi lighter. If this is the case you may also need to swap the red and yellow wires round at the inline fuse holders on the Sony loom, I had to do this on my tripple ISO plug.

Cheers carl, the young dude from halfruads was adamant that I needed the pc2-85-4 for £25 and that was without the steering wheel controls, tell you what, i am glad the order cancelled, just need to get my hard earn'd back from them.

it is the Autoleads PC2-85-4 🙂 the other link is a different make from car audio direct
