To be honest mate tec2 or at the very least opcom will help you solve the problem. I've never looked at fuel pressure on opcom as its something I've never had to worry about with the se. Sticking swirl flaps on the yh manifold can also cause the misfire but your symptoms are pointing more towards the pump. Both are common faults on the yh. When the pump fully fails it will rev till 3k then go into limp. Yours at the very least sounds like its starting to go but it could also be the manifold sticking at an outside bet.

Get some carb cleaner and pump a load into intake after the maf making sure to keep the revs up, clear the codes and then take it for an Italian tune ( thrash it ). If this temporary fixes it then you'll know it was your manifold, but as said its an outside bet.

It'll do you no harm to pop into a car breakers and see if they have any Continental pumps at a good price.

Ok i read it so go and unplug the regulator rev up an see if it still does it but logically i already no it will lol somethin to do i guess its better than being terrorised by my 20 month old little girl lol im not looking forward to telling the wife how much this is going to cost anyone want the honors :-(

i unpluged the fuel regulator which i just found is brand new so he's been trying to fix it so thats why the spark plugs look new an expensive bless his little cotton socks lol but when i unplugged it it ran fine but the symptoms i been getting happened but instead of just being when i rev it right up the exact same sound of it missing just happened earlier at 4000 revs but it didnt drop into limp

but what you said about the inlet mani i was thinking the code i had read was mis fire cylinder 1 detected now if it was the pump wouldnt it mis fire over all the pistons not just number 1 so with these swivel flaps could it just be that flap for cylinder 1 is stinking and not the others or dont it work that way

LOL, its not mine 😉 The FPR will have been replaced by the dealer as there is/was a silent recall on it.

This is the direct manifold, all the "flaps" are moved as one via the link bar at certain revs and engine loads. If one has become disconnected I think the only way to check is to take the manifold off to check. There's a kit available to fix the manifold but knowing Vx it wont be cheap.

I replaced the flaps on a yh last year for a freind. i'm sure he paid around £200 for the kit.

well i got myself a opcom today and nearly had a heart attack when i read the codes they were as follows

p0650-06...malfunction (mi) circuit low voltage
p0100-06...mass or volume air flow circuit low input
p1600-30...replace engine cotrol unit (replace ecu)
p1191-52...fuel pressure system malfunction
p0191-02...fuel pressure actuator low voltage
p0567-01...<unknown dtc>

so i cleared them as there is a few new parts around the engine and took it for a drive mcrae style as you do and it only threw these codes as follows

p1191-5a...fuel rail pressure sensor circuit low input
po650-06...malfunction indicator circuit low voltage

so i cleared them again and took it out an tried to beat my time from earlier lol and i got these same as before but plus one

p1191-5a...fuel rail pressure sensor circuit low input
po650-06...malfunction indicator circuit low voltage
p0304-01...cylinder 4 misfire detected

None Complaint: MIL is. P1191 set in the ECU.
1 High pressure pump defective. not driveable vehicle.
2 Fuel pressure regulator defective, vehicle runs in emergency operating mode. Cause: High pressure pump or fuel pressure regulator valve defective Production: Remedy:
In case of customer complaint proceed as follows to verify the faulty part:
1 Check fuel feed pressure at the high-pressure pump with manometer (engine running) Is primary feed pressure less than 3.4 bar? Yes: Low pressure fuel feed failure -> check fuse, relay, intank module.No.:
2 Measure fuel pressure in the high pressure rail at idle by using Tech 2 Data List.
Is fuel pressure in the high pressure rail less than 600 kPa? Yes: High-pressure pump defect, replace.No.
3 Pull off the connector (two-core) of the fuel pressure regulator. Measure the voltage of the regulator at 3000 RPM (standing vehicle) with TECH 2 Is Voltage Greater than 1.2 V? Yes: Fuel pressure regulator defect, replace. No. :

Ha ha quality Carlos........turned out to be "fuel pressure switch" not sure of the right name but that's what on the bill! thank god it was not the hpfp as that field remedy was leading me to believe, stella work from the garage 🙂

I have replaced high pressure fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel sensor and still no good news.

Car has engine management light on and spanner light, the car doesn't go over 20mph. However if I unplug the fuel regulator the spanner light goes off only not management light and the car will pick up speed altho it is terribly lumpy...

Done diagnostic and sure the code I got said fuel pressure low... Cant remember code sure it was p0190 or p0191

I'm lossed and my head hurts!!! Please help haha
