mis fire and loss of power under acceleration

Hello all im new to this site as i have just bought my self this vectra 2.2 z22se 2004
but it has a problem as some nasty s*** didnt tell me when i was buying although its a lovely car and a brilliant drive
so was hoping i could get help from you guys

my problem is when i accelerate hard threw 1st an 2nd taking it over 3 an a half thousand revs it starts to mis fire when i change up to 3rd. an sometimes it drops into limp mode but when i switch off an back on its fine again. i did have a code saying cylinder 1 mis fire detected i have checked the plugs and there like new an look fine .
it also does this when i rev it up to 5 or 6 thousand in nutral it gets there fine but wen i let it drop back down the revs an rev it back up it starts to splutter and mis fire an when i let it down an back up again it starts to lose power an if i hold it up the revs it drops into to limp mode you,s are the experts but i was thinking dodgy injector fuel pump or regulator or could it be electrical ie coil pack
i just don't want to spend money before i have asked the pro's (you lot)

Just to carify, does your car have twin exhausts? I'm presuming it does if so your engine is a z22yh not z22se, not much difference in them both but the fueling and inlet manifolds are totaly different. Ive posted in your other thread

Its only got a single exit pipe it is the z22se its the reason i got the car as i was told its the better engine the car is a vectra 2.2 life direct its just bugging me because it can be a few things electrical or fuelin i think its the fueling tbh because it also hesetates when in low gear ie 4th doing 30 while slowly accelerating you can just feel it slightly holding back what do you think

Eh? 2.2 life direct. Does the engine look like this?

the top engine is mine mate the bottom one is 22yh

What fuel are you running? Does it contain ethanol?

i have a video on my phone of the engine doing what it does but it just sounds like its going to pop with all the noise because the microphone is poop so no use really people will only say the chains gonna go if i put it up but in person the engine is quiet and a perfect runner

No the top one is a z22yh, the bottom one is a photo I took of my engine that is on google and I deffo have a se.

53 plate was the last year of the se fitted to Vec c's

i have the card with ecu security code and vin engine code ect ect and it says its a z22se i was under the impresion the z22se is fitted to the signum an mk 2 zafira il post that vid so you can have a nosey mate

No, the signum was only fitted with a yh and also the zaffy b was fitted with a yh. Trust me, the yh comes with a inlet manifold that has swirl flaps and direct fuel injection. I drive the last year of se's in the Vec c, most se's have a ally cam cover.

Your car is deffo a yh if it looks like to top pic.

ok you win lol i bet the card i got is boll** the lad i got it of was a dodgy beep beep beep lol where is the fuel pump on these in tank or some where else ill have a look now

Usually under the back seat... usually!

Has it had plugs/oil/filter changed recently? Maybe worth nipping the plugs out, giving them a wire brush down and stick them back in? Or even change them, £2 a plug for the triple electrodes

One in the tank which never fails and the hp pump is run off the cam and it's that one that fails.

Dont forget to pop into the dealers with your reg and see if your due a fpr silent recall

iv checked all the plugs thay look new no over fueling or any other signs that may point to anything they are also quad electrodes aswell ngk

is there any way i can check the hp pump myself or is it a trial and error🙁 also what is the diffrence between the two siemans continental .

You'd have to get the fuel pressure checked, the dealer will charge you about 60 quid to plug it in. The continental pumps are the only ones available now. The Siemens ones keep on failing diaphragms so we're superseded by the conti one.

ahh ok they aren,t cheap are they i been looking lol my friend has op com there can the numbers be crunched for the pressure by that if so what should it be and i missed that when it does this it sometimes triggers the eml which will turn off after 10 20 miles of normal driving will the pump do that.. cheers
