The new FAI ones are really good. They have a 5mm allen key hole in the spline to stop it spinning while tightening up the new bolt (y)

And the reason for my knocking

them low profile tyres & 18"s must dish out some punishment, then again it is more to do with the state of the road, I already gone through a set in 2.5 yrs on my astra and missus has gone through a set in 8 months on her KA

19's fitted Mike, so it's even worse! They were replaced 18 months ago on the VXR. I only had to replace them once on my MK4.

I know Si has gone through at least 3 sets on his MK4

A bloke at work moved from York to Sheffield, and he can't believe how bad our roads are. Doesn't help that he bought a 350Z either (but that suspension doesn't feel as bad on our roads as the VXR)

Like Matt said I got through about 4 sets in total, our roads are shocking. I hit a pot hole on the ibiza the other day thought front end had collapsed!

Poor car indeed Mike, I must say though the ride is bloody hard as in the Ibiza, you only have to go over a pebble and it feels like a speed bump lol

rather than me starting a new thread where do peole get their drop links from?

i had to replace mine in july and there already :poop: the 1s i got were/ are continental' s yet less than a year and 4000milies they have had it. (look worse than the links i replaced for the mot.) i got the continental's from ebay so im unsure if its a wise move to get them there again.

i got mine from matt in the shop
changed them the other day its the 1st time ive ever done them on my astra cause one was warn at one end
but the FAI parts seam just the job only niggle was the different size nuts 19mm vs 18mm on the old ones

I also have the FAI ones fitted. They were easier to fix with the 5mm hole in the spline.

Metal droplinks have been known to knock like mad when fitted in place of plastic ones.

If you do want a set of FAI, I bought a few sets, so have them in stock ready to ship out

The company who supplied the drop links have sent me replacments.

however you can see they are going to be crap again so when i have some free cash ill get a decent set on there again 🙂

fitted my new drop link rods today, only £15 for the pair on the corsa c. FAI ones from a local motor factor.
they failed on my corsa d after 12k miles from new and 3 years old! partly due to poor quality and part due to poor roads, last count 67 pot holes in our village! theres only about 1.5 miles of road here too!!
