crank oil seal leak and wobbly pulley

I also had a bent woodruff key it wasn't seated properly and when i was torquing bolt it bent the key wouldnt reach the specified torque when the wrench was supposed to click and then i realised why. couldn't get the pulley off again because of that had to use a sliding hammer cause a piece of the key had actually broken off . I would think the safest way would be to replace the woodruff key it may take longer but would be the best option the fact it is bent means it has weakened and could potentially break anytime . i wouldnt buff out inside of pulley especially if its new this could cause more wobbling i think it would be a big gamble the key also hold the 2 chain sprockets in position if the key breaks it will fuck your timing as they will just spin on the crankshaft although its only for the pulley and belt it also holds the chain sprockets your choice but a big gamble

I would also bite the bullet so to speak and take timing cover off, replace the woodruff key with a new one and use a new or decent replacement pulley. Its not a massive job just takes a bit of time but well worth peace of mind!

As said it also holds the timing and balance chain sprockets in place and you dont want them doing anything else but turning with the crank, unless you want to wave goodbye to your engine...... (y)
