crank oil seal leak and wobbly pulley

Hi folks. I have a vectra b 2.2Sri 02'
Ok i have oil coming from my front crank oil seal,hitting the pulley and going everywhere! on finding this leak i also noticed the pulley has a big wobble in it,is this caused by the seal being goosed or is it more severe,like balancing chain etc being on its last legs.
I plan on changing timing chain soon but want to fix oil leak asap,does a new/satisfactory seal stop the wobble.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The pulley bolt could be loose causing it to wobble

I checked to see if there was any obvious play in pulley but there wasn't.i then put a socket and long bar on nut and it was tightening but didn't know what torque to put it to or if i was going to do damage by overtightening..??

I spoke to a vauxhall mechanic today that told me he didn't think the oil seal would sort out the wobble in my pulley that I should remove it to see if the pulley is turning straight. He can't be sure if I replace the oil seal and there's still a noticeable wobble in pulley that it won't do damage to new seal.can the balancing kit be the cause of the wobble or is it nothing to do with crank/pulley. is the bolt and pulley direct connected to crankshaft?
Feedback once again would be great folks

Does the pulley from the engine bay look like it's running straight? The pulley slides over a woodruff key on the end of the crank and a bolt holds it on, the balance chain shouldn't cause the pulley to wobble

Yes, you can clearly see(from top of engine bay and straight on when wheel and plastics removed) that there is a wobble in pulley.been told the pulley could be rubberised???
I'm going to change the seal and crank bolt anyway,gonna put a new pulley on too.need part number for pulley?

Would anyone know the correct torque settings for front crank oil seal bolt?

Crankshaft pulley bolt From Haynes Manual

Stage 1 100nm or 74 lbf ft
Stage 2 Angle Tighten a further 40 Degrees
Stage 3 Angle Tighten a further 30 Degrees

might be a bent crank pulley, they are cheap and plentiful secondhand, plus it's worth changing the oil seal whilst doing the chains (y)

So I changed my crankshaft oil seal,pulley and bolt tonight.had the car running for 10mins idling with no signs of oil. I then headed on my 10mile trip home,2 miles down the road my oil pressure light flickered on twice then came on for 5secs.i pulled over to find a huge puddle of oil with the whole drivers side covered in oil again!
Because my car has been a wee bit sluggish I hit the limiter in 2nd to clear the cobwebs.
I'm wandering if this has had an effect on anything. When fitting the new seal I put a thin spear of oil round outer side of seal and oiled up the inner and outer of pulley where it slide onto crankshaft thn torqued to 100nm +40* +30*....was this correct?
I was unable to have a proper look to see where oil is coming from as it was dark and oil was everywhere....it will be unclear till tomorrow when towed back to garage.
Is it possible that because I had a severe oil leak previously that now there was proper pressure in engine it's blown a gasket/pressure relief valve....??

Yes.i replaced like for like.and inserted it the correct way round

I will know all tomorrow....can't think where else oil would come from except oil crank seal, timing gasket, inspection seal plate or pressure relief valve.After cleaning engine again I plan on removing the tensioner and belt tomorrow and turning car over at 3-4000rpm that way I should see where oil is coming from without ps pump,alternator or tensioner throwing oil everywhere.hopefully that will give me a clearer picture.

After checking the pulley that was fitted i noticed it had been of before and re-tightened just of centre of the woodruff key causing the key to bend.so my replacement pulley would not sit flush hence the major oil leak.
Now to replace the woodruff key...how easy is this to change and will i have to take of the timing cover to access it?

you need to remove the timing chain cover, you might be lucky and be able to straighten the woodruff key, if not you need to remove both chain kits to replace it (n)

what seems to have happened is i can see a mark on pulley where it was torqued up which was half on the guide,after time its shifted and sat in place leaving the pulley wobbly.the pulley has marks on it but i have a replacement pulley.the woodruff key now is bent over n won't fit on the new or old pulley,getting the old pulley of was a pig.
I just spoke to mechanic at work n he said quickest and easiest repair (without removing timing chain,cover, cog) was to buff out the inside of pulley where it meets the key to accomodate for the bend in key.
