ive used silent coat this time, used dynamat extrem in the past but its twice the price!!
got front speakers in today along with wiring and under carpet foam to hide wires even more. started refitting the trim.
i'll upload photos in the morning. bit sleepy now. :hilarious:

had to drill out door plugs to get speaker wires into the doors, used a peice of plastic pipe to get the wires through the rubber boot.
fitted the front speakers, MB Quart QM218.61 Q's. not happy with tweeter location but since had a better idea while eating tea! (y)

routed wires through car for power to second battery, rca leads, remote trigger wire and speaker cables.
fitted even more sound proofing, under carpet foam dynaliner, helps hide wires under the carpet.

cant remeber what gauge it is? 14 gauge i think? using 4 gauge for power to second battery, 0 gauge for power to caps and fuse block. the speaker wire is by rockford fosgate, twisted to reduce nosie. norrmally found in hi end home hifi.

heres todays work, fit the rest of this lot!
Alpine IVA-D310RB, head unit and media hub.
Alpine CHA-S624 cd multichanger.
Celestion AD12 sub woofers x2.
RockfordFosgate punch 400.4, 4 channel amp.
RockfordFosgate power 250.1 mono amp.
RockfordFosgate punch link, amp joiner.
RockfordFosgate punch rp7410 1 farad power capacitors x2.

also rest of the interior trim and seats, maybe boot spoiler and grill?

yes Matt its just a layer of self adhesive foam that moulds around the wires so you dont get bulges in the carpet when finished. only realy a problem when using larger wiring. you might also note that the wires are held down with dynatape, a foil tape thats same as foil on the sound proofing.

got the sub cabnet in, not much boot left though.
didnt get many photos today just a few of the subs. its all in now bar the second battery which is on charge ready for drop testing in the morning. got to cold tonight and packed up.

only single coil, there only 300watt's but realy drop! its strange they are rated at such low power when celestion recomend a minimum of 500watts input rms?
good job the rockford amp gives 700 watts! 7.5" magnets on them. rubber coating makes them look bigger.

i just looked at the specs 300w peak! and xmax 3.2mm very shallow movement but they are a good old skool sub by the looks of it
in comparison with my x-types there xmax 19.1mm lol and 75mm full mechanical excursion 3000w peak only ever blown one up 🙂

thier old skool allright, 15 years old!!! there peak is 600watts. back in the day people would run them at 1000-1200 watts input. never blown one of these up yet. ive run them at 1000watts before but on good amps and with good crossovers set low around 250/300Hz @24db/octave. and let them drop all the way down.
just cranked it up, had to get a new battery as old one had dropped a cell! vauxhall raped my wallet for £87! sounds good. first cd was snap rhythm is a dancer, was in cd player allready but what a track, followed by baby d let me be your fantasy. then on to a test cd to reset the levels, phasing, balance and check for rattles.
needs more sound proofing around the boot and foam behind trim panels as at 45Hz theres a few vibrating trim panels. nice and quiet out side though! 🙂

a few snaps of the system. found a piece of trim in the breakers today that goes around the heater controls changed from alloy effect to black as i think it looks smarter.

your right the black trim is better over the alloy look one
make sure your bolts are tight on the wires to the caps theres no sheathing on the terminals if they come loose its a potential short 🙂 just saying
