Where do you by exhaust pipe and universal silencers etc from? I would like to make my own exhaust I don't like any that I can buy

cant say as i had a cat back system made by powerflow years ago and its been fine since fitted

right heres the down pipe done 🙂
test fit

cut and tack in place

weld 🙂

and fit

will have to wait till day light to run it up ended up having to remove the backbox to get the centre pipe back in the right place lol
so hopefully thats it for the beetle noise and the blowing

i wouldn't buy it chances are its not double lined as it dont say its is and will sound wank if its not

just sayin it was mentioned earllyer on in the thread 🙂
me and pottsey have both had the same problem beetle whistling from the exhaust as the gass flow over the ridges of the flexy
i have to say its one of the most annoying sounds to come from a car
the one i bought had expected to be longer but is double lined so not more beetle (i hope) and the size done matter just as long as it works 🙂

Strange as I always thought the vectra B was more prone to blowing as it was being pulled under load, where as the astra G there was more movement as the downpipe would lift up slightly under load, with the veccy B you were effectively pulling the whole exhaust section and hangers.

Sounds like a Tank under load, loud ticking is usually the manifold and tank is the flexi

just been out ran the car up apart from the lambda elbow being loose its all good
no more blowing and the whistles gone will see if i get some power back now 🙂

also got off the phone with me mate mick the garage is clear and i can go any time so looks like the brakes will get done under cover and in the warm 🙂

ive got 3 flexis on mine ,2 on the downpipe where it goes from 4 branch to 2 then another flexi just before the cat

he made one himself very similar

rear hubs converted vxr calliper mount fitted to the mk4 hub and back shield

new 278mm disc fitted

looks good behind the wheel

out comes the dinner plates

new nipples and dust covers

pads and spring clips

thanks to Mick and Shaun at S M AUTO for the use of the floor space and the cups of tea 🙂

had a 25mile drive home they were crap for the 1st 5 miles then they started to work
by the time i got home there were almost great few more miles and they will be sending me thru the window 🙂

i put Mintex on the front £22
and Allied Nippon on the rear £16

got a set of super low mileage 308 discs and gm pads,callipers and calliper brackets in the batcave going to clean them up and sell them on now i got the vxr brakes on and sorted
