today i have done some more work on one of the other projects
egr cheater

test layout

parts on the test layout

toner transfer to the copper clad

etched

parts soldered on

just need to buy some 1.2mm drill bits so i can fit the pins
and then some clear srink tube to hold it in place and cover it on the egr plug

doh! need to move the hole centers seams that i have measured them wrong

i did plug it in and run the engine had no immediate eml but hard to say what with my egr being turned off

Great work with the circuit board, did you check what the code was that caused the EML?

typo there was no eml 🙂
but then that may be down to it being off in the ecu

still got the front end to do and then the engine work is to be started

have been to the scrap yard this morning and was shocked to find 2 yes 2 astra coupes with z22se's in them they both look to have shafted engines but all the other bits are there i even managed to get the central locking plugs to fit the new lights

also today been working on the stone chips on the roof 5 in total one real bad one the others not so bad

after diggin out the rust

and the other 2 smaller ones

the big ones gona take some work lol

home made tint spray black and some lacquer

bit or a repair this bit has annoyed me for a long time its where my old huge spoiler rubber the paint thru

somthing else to deal with 🙁

fresh paint flatted down then mopped

new lights look sweet 🙂

big stone chip did not turn out so good but theres paint in there so no more rust

Great work as always Carl, my word the petrol filler neck looks bad, did you remove the rubber neck to find that?

yeah i pulled the rubber up and knew there was something there was a bit shocked when i took it all out and found this
need to remove the hole filler pipe from the fuel tank to the body just so i can wire brush the rust off and treat it with krust and then paint it back up and cover it in waxoil
dont want it rusting thur to the boot

Carl, can you do a quick guide on how to remove the plastic / rubber neck cover? I want o see what mine is like underneath after seeing this?

ok 🙂

remover fuel cap
grab rubber from bottom and pull up over pipe
watch out for dirt entering the fuel pipe on removal

do you want pics?
i removed the fuel flap cover and central locking motor after
the boot lining needs lifting away to the plug on the motor
theres just 4 torx #20 screws holding them in

i took to many pics lol
new hid kit came

the ballasts are tiny

nice and bright tho

here my attempt to fix the rust in the petrol filler hole

clean

krusted

waxoil'd the inside

then sealed it up woth PU18 sealent

tryed to fix the trim but no joy

so i glued the bugger

went over the spoiler yet again
400grit on the DAS

then 2500 wet'n'dry then G3 and about 20mins then megs tech wax

very very shiney

That's spot on Carl going to have a good look at mine, that spoiler must be spot on now? But you may want to go steady with 400grit before you burn through.

there's just a few marks on the back edge i thought i had got
the spoiler was lacquered 3 times with 3 heavy layers the 400grit was a once only thing just to get it proper flat
even if it did burnt thru i'd whip it off and cut it back would be a better finish now the weathers warmer 🙂

Great work fixing around the fuel, im going to have to look at mine, im assuming with all the petrol that gets spilt there the paint would have just pealed away. also your paint and body work is amazing!!! spotless finishes!

went to halfrauds again today got some new mop heads some megs tech wash and megs wheel cleaner
also bought me dad a new head unit jvc thingy
i wanted some new bulbs for the rear lights as there like new now any way 🙂
the guy at the shop said he would do them for free cause i complained about the price of the adapter lead BONUS! 🙂

then to my complete surprise i found this lot that i had forgotten about
TB / coil pack / alternator / fuel rail /ecu
