Yea checking the alignment is a very good point. Does the Astra have auto levellers??The vec c's projector lenses all seam to be set a little too low and dim. To get better light out of them try this little trick if you have some sort of manual levelling inside the car.
Park in front of a wall/garage door with your lights on. Mark the top of the beam with some tape making sure the levellers are set to 0. Now turn the levellers to 1 them pop the bonnet and raise the beam/headlight screws so the beam in back to the tape line. Once done you can go back in the car and turn the levellers back to 0, this will now raise the beam above the tape line and give the beam a longer throw.
If this new setting causes any problems with blinding people or mots then all you have to do is turn the setting back to 1 to set it back to factory.
However if you have auto levellers that work of the rear suspension then I've just waisted 5 mins typing lol.
