I will see if the older power DVD versions work on 8, if so you can have an original copy with a key.

Well i loaded a test pc upto day with Win 8 and quickly loaded Power DVD the version i had worked fine, only think i found on the web it it may have some issues with blue-ray not sure if thats an issue?

Just been installing some software on the desktop running Windows 8, and noticed that my disc usage is really high considering what is actually installed.

Had a look through the folders, and found a Windows.old folder which was over 18GB in size. It appears what when you upgrade to Windows 8, it backs up the old Windows 7 installation so you can access your old files.

This is safe to remove according to the help site: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/How-do-I-remove-the-Windows-old-folder

So, removing Previous Windows Installation and the Temp Install Files:

25GB reclaimed!

It's the Desktop that is running Windows 8, and I've stuck another 4GB in it this morning when I got home from work (going spare from some old cases), so it's got a total of 8GB. HDD is only 150GB, so I'm going to look at swapping the HDD out for the one I had in my laptop (which is 480GB), but need to make a back up of the laptop HDD first, and then clone the existing HDD onto the laptop one.

So your sticking with windows 8 then?
Windows 8 takes up about 26GB, let alone any heavy software like windows office etc, it soon adds up!

Windows8 on the desktop, and Windows7 on my laptop. Might as well use the serial now I've bought it.
