Clio Sport Going

Well after 7 and a bit years ownership we did a deal on a new car yesterday.

I have loved and hated this car and it was painful to shake on the deal for what we got for it, it has been well looked after even in last month spent fair few hundred on decent boots, Brembo brakes, and poly bushes!

Least I gave it a last few coats of wax and sealant the other day. ( Took a few pics today will upload later)

But we needed a bit more space and a 5 door so

We went for a silver 5 door, that is a petrol turbo and the manufacturer starts with a "S" can you guess what I may have bought?

I did look at both of those, and was very close to go with the Leon, but went for an Ibiza FR.

Here is the Clio

Although not just cleaned it was the day before, sunlight not really showing off the flake in the paint. I hope who ever buys this enjoys it.

A couple of little things on my list are to give it a good detail and try and get some depth to the silver paint, maybe CC the bumpstrips, The alloys have been re-furbed recently and its an Ok job but may tidy them up a bit, New car Mats and tax disc holder.

Then maybe a new ITG / Green panel filter and possibly a Forge re-circ diverter valve. I may also get a well known vag tuning company to give it the once over and fresh oil even though it has been done recently i am not sure of what oil etc was used.

Well the new car is turning out to be costly.

So far
Full service and ITG filter
Glad I did get the service done as it showed up there was no coolant / antifreeze in water! This made my mind up a decided to get full cambelt water pump changed.

I was going to get one of our staff members to do this work but the distance was just too far away,which was a real shame 🙁

So a local company has done
Fresh G12 coolant, cambelt kit and water pump and it was time for plugs so had them done as well that came in at quite a few £££

With the cold snap arriving the cheap budgets are not upto the job and one of the eagle F1s are low on the rear, so I am now on the lookout for some new rubber.

I have also got, new custom mats, tax disc holder, cigarette lighter blank, and a new set of Bosh aero wipers which need tweaking.

So far the Clio has not had a very nice journey, that's another story 🙁

Also going to poss have a go at the wheels once the boots are sorted as the poor, poor, poor re-furb job is not great when you look at them in great detail.

Well, the new car has had more spent on it, the list goes on

So far
Medium service and ITG filter.
Full cambelt and water pump G12 coolant.
Spark plugs.
New dog bone and bush with gearbox oil change.

To do
Booked in to get all coils swapped, luckily I did some research and it was a recall
Windows misting, bought a pollen found the muppets who serviced it last looks like they attacked every bit of plastic with pound land screwdriver, every torx screw is chewed or has been pulled out so a real mess with the current pollen filter just half hanging not filtering $ite all. Will see what I can do but looks like a need to renew all the plastics and housings. No wonder its misting up.

Lesson learned, even though a car looks good on the surface and has full service history, if monkeys with guns have been looking after it, it will be a headache.

We are now thinking about cutting our loses and buying a different motor.

That really doesn't sound good Si. Would be a shame to have to cut your losses now, as it seems like it's almost to where it should be?

I know Matt, half of me is thinking that but we have only had it a month and not only has it cost a lot i have spent hours driving to places and having time off work to sort it out and it's not sorted yet. I feel like giving up, suppose I could have the same if I swap again and loose a few K in the process.
