Need some help people - possible symptoms of broken camshaft ?

Ahhh.... and the cause ? do we know the cause of this issue yet ? i am genuinly intreaged as i reckon most of it it lack of oil filter changes lol ! take yours out and let us have a look when you get the chance :thumbup:
I got another engine from a guy on here... it works 😉

Hopefully someone can fix you up and get the car back out there asap.

HI mate - doubt it's an oil feed problem tbh - I've had the car for four years with regular services and oil filters from Andrew Page. It's certainly weird but at least I know what I need to do now to get sorted :-)

Yeah hopefully Mike, but the cam / bearing damage was pretty bad. I ran it back from my brothers unit to his house yesterday and even after just a few miles, there was a shrill squeeking from the top end, coming from the number 4 end of the engine. I reckon the bearings are about done so I'm limiting my use of the car to just running around looking for an engine 🙁

Well it looks like that's a very common issue then with the exhaust cam then ! Crap design, not using shells in the bearings ? Hey ho, looks like I'm on the engine trail then because I'm not forking out loads on a head when the bottom end is less than minty. I got the 'sound like a fan belt' too, before the misfire began. Obviously number 5 exhaust cam bearing kissing its a$$ goodbye.....
