jp6 hi all. joined up to the sight last week when my car started with problems so thought i would make a project thread. bought her 8 months ago as a standard car. was a mates mothers car and was going fairly cheap and since i knew the car it made good sense to take it off her 🙂 anyways time for some pics this is how she lookd when we got her. and this is how she looks now. current spec. 18in team dynamic alloys.fk coilovers with rear spring adjusters removed.rubber mudflaps. vec c rear spoiler. unknown brand back box.pre-cat removed. have a few jobs to do on it over next few months and will update as and when they happen. cheers jp
jp6 cheers guys. wheels were a bargain. got them for 150 quid. the back box was a ebay jobbie as the last 1 fell off/got nickd xmas eve. ive got a nearly new race tube which was a mates who sold me it dirt cheap to put on it as centre section is about rotten through but wonder if it will be to loud and sound crap.
jp6 little update. car was playing up sat morning so took it to my mates work and put it on computer. turns out the ns front abs sensor is dead and is causing problems with speedo and other things so car is off the road till next weekend when i can fit a new hub/sensor
rushy That Irmy iRS spoiler works really well on the coupé mate, possibly better than on a Vec C :thumbup:
jp6 small update. got the hub fitted the other day at work. did notice the n/s drop link was about shot so orderd another and will fit that along with the race tube over bank hol. while i had the car over the pit i had a good poke around and im rather pleased with the underside of the car. have got some rear calipers and 308 carriers on there way to me aswell so hope to have them fitted in next 2-3 weeks.
jp6 wow race tube makes a noise doesnt it lol. was a bit worried that it was going to sound a bit raspy however its a nice deep sound so im a happy pappy. is any1 else going to yorkshire motor show at pickering this coming sunday or are you all going to pvs?
Matt They do normally loose a bit of the raspyness (probably not even a word!) once they have coked up a bit after a few hundred miles of driving. What's the Yorkshire motor show like? Never been before.
jp6 yms is at pickering show ground. its a fairly good turn out most years. there is also a sunday market going on in the next field if you get bored with cars.
jp6 bit more of a update.still havent recieved my brakes however i have acquired a mk4 1.8sri hatch which im stripping for parts. ive gone through the recipts and found the rear brakes were replaced 2month ago so swaped from bosch to lucas setup. i have fitted a reiger front splitter and have replaced both front tyres. will get picks up when weather is good again.
jp6 [ATTACH=full]8584[/ATTACH]update time. were shall i start lol... finaly got the 308s on the car. they are drilled and grooved but you carnt really see it in the pic. rieger front splitter was fitted and got a bargain on the audi style headlights at £60. no damage and all mounts still intact. car is now booked for some paint in a few weeks. planning on having front and rear bumpers,splitter and rear corner spats,spoiler and maybe the skirts blown over. however if my v6 engine and other parts sell then i will be considering a full respray. also order my egr cheater and blanking plate today aswell 🙂[ATTACH=full]8585[/ATTACH]
jp6 small update. the paint job is on hold for now as my rear tyres decided to give up on life last week so im having the rims re-furbed instead. i would advise against these audi style head lights. there are pants on a night and they wont beam set correctly so im on the look out for another pair of gsi headlights if any body has a pair for sale? having the egr has made a noticable difference to how she drives. worth while mod imo.
jp6 hello boys and girls. havent updated in a while. mainly due to my 2nd boy arriving and buying a dirty derv as a cheap runner. since september the car has been off road. today i decided to go have a poke round and see what she needs for mot. ive striped/cleaned/greased and painted all the brakes. fitted new bottom arms and have orderd some bilstein rear shocks as 1 has burst. while she has been laid up i have removed the wheels for cleaning and polishing inside and out and fitted some different headlights and fitted a spare pair of hids to the fogs.
