astra22bertoneauto If you have no history at all with the car then its peace of mind, you dont know how well or poorly the car has been treated before you got it. But they are not cheap to replace thou. What condition was the oil in when you got it?
glenn Seemed ok was going to do another change this weekend maybe its something we could look at if your not busy two heads better than one lol
sandyc Changing it now will be alot cheaper than changing a snapped one and repairing all the resulting damage. Definitely worth doing if you plan on keeping the car on a long term basis.
Matt glenn said: Thanks sandy can you recommend a link to one ? We sell them: https://z22se.co.uk/shop/engine/timing-chain-kits
Matt glenn said: What's the warranty like if I fit it myself ? Warranty?? They are genuine GM timing chain kits, but that's about it. We can't guarantee if you fitted it correctly or not.
glenn Chains not problem is it ? Its the rubbish tensioner isn't it ? Saab ones better ? Can't I just change that
Matt They come with the new tensioner as standard now. We sell a few Z20NET tensioners as well, so it's entirely up to you.
