I found this from here I can't work out if the red and black wire which go to pin 3 on the main stalk socket you spilce into and join the wire from the omega stalk or you cut it and join the wire from the omega stalk.

i got a stalk without rear wipe had for years and never used cause i bought the auto wipers ??

i read

Next (or for non button stalks) fit the variable wiper wire pins to the new wiper socket.
These are Black/White and Black/Yellow wires.
The new wiper plug needs wiring to the Vectra next, the new wiper plug Black/White wire needs
joining to the Black/Yellow wire in the large stalk socket (pin 9 or J on the stalk).
Next ensure the Black/Yellow wire from the new wiper plug can reach the back of the fuse box.
Then you need to join a wire to the Black/Red wire in the large stalk socket (pin 3 or W on the
stalk), this wire needs to reach the back of the fuse box.

but hard to guess without looking at the car loom

Fitted the Omega variable wiper stalk and it works a treat. The only thing is my wipers don't wipe when I pull back on the stalk to wash (that said, it does very occasionally but can't work out a condition to replicate it). I'll investigate at the weekend but any thoughts on where to start would be welcome.

i never fitted mine in the end.got too cold lol, and never ended up getting round to it
