Got some bad news today about my dog

Yesterday my male Rottweiler aged 4 years was feeling down, after having a look at him myself I notice his neck was swollen alot. He was sore to touch and was feeling very down. Today he seemed to be a little better, his tail was wagging and he was moving more. We took him to the vets this morning and they told us he has Lymphoma which is Cancer. They told me to go home and think about whats best for him, either put him to sleep or try chemo treatment that can also be dangerous. dunno..

Shit, sorry to hear that Mark. Have they given any more information about what treatment is available, other than "it can also be dangerous"? What will his quality of life be like while he's on the treatment, and what will it be like after providing it works? Have they given any indication as to how far the cancer has progressed?

I've been told it's bad and it comes on fast. I have been reading about other owners with the same problems, some very sad storys 🙁 . I don't know what to do, he is still young but I don't want his to be in pain

Well I have been told not to go ahead witht he chemo as it can make him suffer more 🙁. Hard times ahead......

I will for sure. I am going to ask the vet how long I can keep him before it gets too worse for him. I don't want him to suffer. I will find out on Monday whats happening. It's hard loosing your best buddy, they are loads of fun and always put a smile on your face. It is hard loosing a pet for sure.

Im lost for words Mark, i have 2 year old springer bitch had her from 8 weeks old, your youtube from pub to now has had me in tears, Angel in the North in the background, hope she brings you some luck! cant imagine how you are feeling????

oh mate im gutted for you 🙁 ,its never nice loosing a family pet , i had to put my dog to sleep a few years ago hardest thing ive ever done

Thanks for the comments guys. I am going to see how long I can keep him as he is now as I don't want to get rid of him while he is still strong. I don't want to keep him if he gets in pain with the cancer, so I will see whats best from the vet on Monday
