New TV

Finally got round to sorting a new TV out, as the one I have is a 24" Pasific one which I got from Asda 3 years ago for £90.

So, I've ordered this one this morning:

With stand.

*  81cm visible screen size.
* HD Ready.
* 1366 x 768 WXGA display resolution.
* 1200:1 contrast ratio.
* 2x HDMI in.

It's being delivered Friday....I CAN'T WAIT!!!

they are good matt my mum and dad have a big 52inch one in the living room its like being in the cinema picture quality is superb especialy with the hd digi box

We're getting a good deal on this one. We are renting it, and we can upgrade it every 18 months for the newer/better model. I don't see the point in buying a TV, as when you want a new one, you get nothing back for them ££ wise, so I just give this back in 18 months, and get a new one.

It's from a shop in Goole, East Riding. We ge the TV and the Stand for £36 a month

Its a nice Tv that..... I bought an LG one at christmas thought I would take a picture of it up on the wall for you. The wires will be hidden this week as they are still running out of the wall at the mo

Got the TV earlier this afternoon, been wiring the DVD and surround sound back up. I'm very, very impressed with the TV, loads of features, lots of inputs, and looks like it's floating on the stand we've got with it. I'll put some pictures up later on.

Now u need an upscaling dvd player to get a better picture from ur tv....... or use some good component cables from your existing dvd player or recorder.

Can you recommend a decend one? It's my birthday next week, so might be able to get one as a present.

Are you looking for one with component out or an upscaling one?

one with component out will give you a sharper picture because it sends each colour to the tv down a seperate cable and the tv puts them back together again....

Normal dvds are 480 Dpi so an upscaling dvd makes the picture up to 1080 Dpi. you are looking at about 40 quid for a cheap dvd with component or about 80 quid for a good upscaling dvd with component and HDMI output. I dont know if you download divx or xvid films but most new dvds will play them too.

So the upscaling makes the picture HD (ish) quality then? If so, definately one of those. The one I have at the minute was a cheap one from Asda, which I region free'd. Also, do the new ones have any problems playing "backup" films, and I've got about 400 and need to make sure it will play them OK?

Yeah when you back up a film its normally region free so it will work on most players. If your using a scart to connect your dvd at the moment then you will definatly notice the difference. I wouldnt throw myself into saying its HD quality because if you go into a store and see the HD demos they are as good as you will get. If you do want to get HD quality stuff on it then you can connect a pc and download HD movies but you will need a fast pc to run it.
