It is worrying how Vauxhall servicing is going. I've had mine serviced at our local dealers for years and to be fair they've been great - until recently.
My brother took his z22se in and they charged him for fitting a timing belt and tensioners. (Yes - belt) notsure.gif
My dad took his Astra 1.8 in and they charged him for a new belt and all fours discs and pads - perhaps not noticing that last year and 5,500 miles ago they had already fitted a new belt and discs and pads.
Mine came back with note saying front pads 80% worn, rears 75% worn. With a price to change in excess of £300. When I took them out the fronts were 50% worn and the rears 25%. I took them to the manager, with the technician's report - his response was "We don't remove the wheels when we service a car so we just have to guess how the brakes are."
On that basis Vauxhall lost a long established customer.
Sorry to wander off on personal reminisences - back to the point - it would be interesting to know which Castrol oil they used. I'm not convinced the standard GM stuff is up to the job given the service intervals these days.
