UPDATE!!
My oil pressure switch came in on Wednesday for the grand total of £13.05 thru Trade Club. I was going to waz over to Daz but I thought that i'd brave it out and have a go myself. I went to Halfords last night and bought myself a 27mm deep socket for £7.99 and whilst I was there I noticed a special half price offer on socket sets so I bought myself a 3/8" set reduced from £40 to £19.99. Anyway back on topic.
I won't lie, the job was a pig! I removed the starter again and a few plugs and earth cables and then reached up into the tiny cavern below the huge inlet manifold with access being obscured by my extra front engine mount. I slipped the long socket over the pressure switch and then accessed it with a rachet from the side by the gearbox. Off it came and it was definately fooked! Oil everywhere it shouldn't have been really.
A quick wipe off the front of the block and the new oil switch was being inserted home again. All tightened back up, plugs pushed back on, starter replaced and earths bolted back it was ready to turn the engine over. Started no problem and no more oil leak. Jobs a good 'un!
Here's a few pics of the old and the new and also showing the oil in the socket area where it shouldn't have been.
Old & New...
New nice and clean...
Old nasty and oily...
