I have to agree there's nowt like the sound of a turbo spooling up. but the lag can get annoying.
But back to the subject though. BMW'S new 320 engine is a peach, 2.0 170 BHP. No aggressive CAMS or anything just good build quality. Z22SE though 200cc larger gives 150 BHP. We know you get what you pay for, but this is some defecit on what is easily attainable.
Is it the injectors? Timing? Exhaust Manifold? notsure.gif
Agressive cams! WTF it has continuously adjustable intake and outlet camshafts which means they can be mild at idel and run large overlap at high revs. It also has direct injection and 1:12 compresion ratio.
The z22se was designed to have good low down torque at the expense of outright power somthing it achieves well with 155 lbft with none of the complex variable valve timing that most modern engines have. That the same as the afore mentioned BMW has with all it complexity and modern technology.
I agree with Daz.[/quote]
Maybe sophisticated might be the better word for the 320's cams, not aggressive IMO, when compared to the Civic Type R's Cliosport 197 etc. But that's just opinion. Cant argue about the low down torque, i like it alot especially when you have a car full and can gracefully climbs hills.
