The cam's i am thinking of getting i have to run a stand alone e.c.m anyway, they will be the biggest that i have been able to find in the world on the net [with out being custom made]. They are made in Germeny about 316-320 duration :o compitition race cam's i wan't 300+ atw when i am finished. Yes it is possable they are getting 300-330 in the USA. drool.gif

Well...tis done. Didn't get as light as i wanted at 5.195kg, but erred on the side of safety. 😃

Well i took off 4.29kgs.....could have gone a bit more...but like to be safe. Didn't cost me anything cos i did it at work, but it was probably 8 hours work all in. If i couldn't do it myself...then no, cos a machine shop would be charging £40-50/hour i'm guessing. If i could do it on a cnc with a program, that would be different cos it would run overnight. As a project it was worth doing to see how long and how light i could get it and it was quite enjoyable to. But it wouldn't be worth trying to make much money out of it due to the time taken to do em.

Although I find it a bit scary to make a cast flywheel so much thinner in the middle... :think:

@ B&B, are you gonig to supercharge yours, as that's how they got those 3** numbers in the US. (And without aggressive cams...)

The Cav one i did was even thinner and thats has been brilliant, that finished at 8.5mm, this one i finished at 9.5mm so its a bit heavier, but also a bit stronger.

I have a customer who will kill for this item as it is coming in lighter than courtenay & tms items

Also looked into Fidanza flywheels from US Ecotec engines, but not so sure if those will fit with our F23 gearbox. The heights looks a bit different than ours and also heard somewhere that the US blocks use some kind of spacer plate between box and block... notsure.gif
