yea thats what the spec figures are but they will not be exact cos my last car a passat said 139 but i pushed just over 145 out of it, then again the speedo could be out a bit either way dunno..

oh yea and as for this thread when i had my passat i was racing a saab, my mates were in the car(one of them a notorious lier) he said his pug 106 gti was faster than my passat and it could do 165mph and he beat an evo 7 in a quarter mile with it and all it had done was an exhaust, filter and quad headlights, think it was the headlights where the power was comin from hahaha total bullsh*t, needless to say we dont speak much now, he believes his own lies notsure.gif

Indicated and actual speeds can be quite a bit off. In the Astra, I can set at 70mph on the motorway, the GPS is only showing 66mph. Gets more out the faster you go as well.

i had a calibra with x20xev standard and said in book would do about 130mph _{roughly i cant remmember} but when i rushed my mrs to hospital down the m4 it went off the clock, is this just a normal thing or just the odd engine that has that little extra dunno..

Got a great story about this guys.

A year or so ago I was at an engagement party of a guy I used to work with. ANother guy from the same workplace was there telling me about his new BMW Z3, and that it was a 3 litre (which I pretty much knew to be untrue)

Anyway, his house was on the way to my girlfriends so I made a note of his registration and looked it up on the dvla website, took a screenshot of it, and posted it to his facebook profile with a note saying "remember you told me your car was a 3 litre? Well take a look at this, should save you some money on insurance now you know it's a 1.9!

Gutted he was.
