sounds good when its warm tho 😃

It is a little but also has a nice burble type note to it too all depends on how you drive it 😃
I did have a blowing sound to it but found out the letterbox was falling to bits inside and blowing out from around the were the tail pipe meets the box! so went and another one and it's all fine now 😃

hi johhny, i sure your already sorted and i know i'm only running OE manifold & cat but my 2.5" bastuck straight through with magnex backbox sounds fine, its sounds nothing like remus centres with letterboxes or systems like powerflow etc. the build quality of backboxes such as magnex, miltek, bastuck, etc. can stand baffle the sound so much better.

lea has a exhaust UK system on hers with centre box and is still much louder than mine.

You know what Nick, I reckon you're right. I've been thinking about this for ages now and TBH, the Milltek backbox should keep things in check. I had a look under the car yesterday and forgot how big the centre section box is. Its huge and its empty!! You never know, it might be a bit quieter?? lol!

Well, I've made a mistake. I had the empty centre box removed for a straight pipe and it's now louder than hells dungeon when it's on fire! What have I done???

I'm going to book it back in for a new centre I think. I came along the local roads at part throttle as I was so embarrassed. Never mind, lesson learnt.

oh! not so good then johhny.

i take it your centre is 2.5" miltek? if you could find a magnex centre as they have 2 smaller boxes maybe it would hold the wadding better than 1 large box?

I've booked it back in to have a new centre section put back in. I've asked if they can supply a high grade wadding and they said that they will use the same type as what's used in high powered turbo applications. I'm so annoyed with myself at the moment but it's nothing that can't be put right.

Back out to Longlife tomorrow morning. 8am appointment for the new centre box. Haven't driven the car since last Monday.

Need to sort summat out on alys too john....hers sound like a screaming banshee when u give it beans....and thats with ure old backbox and no centre box.....

i see what you mean now,
if your going to get a straight through you need a resonated one thats made for the car, they are a bit better, just noise when you want it.
just welding a bit of pipe in is going to make a lot of noise from reverberation.

I arrived at 7:45am. Went to the newsagent for a paper and into the village bakery for a bacon roll. Back to Longlife and had a nice cup of tea. We discussed about making the new centre box to the same dimensions as the old Milltek and away the chap went. Just over an hour later I could hear the car start up and this time I felt a lot better about it.

The workmanship is excellent. The car feels its normal self again now. I had a happy drive home.

Powerflex exhaust mounts. I got 2 yellow but the new stock colour is red. I bought 2 red ones this afternoon and fitted them tonight. They are £6.99 each from Halfords but you can get them from Demon Tweeks or other places online. They are very good. Just need to get 3 more now for around the backbox. The 4 that I have under the car at the moment are part #EXH005.
