Well another day another update.:kay:

today went out though i would change the maf sensor to the new one i got and then also do another compression test after doing the timing change and oil and filter change plus engine flush after letting things settle i have dont both a dry and wet compression test.

This time i though i would do it with pictures so ppl can see what i see.

so my spark plus are a week old if that and they look like this

the car hunts on idle nearly stores when u stop reving i have changed maf and op-com has no maf ecu codes. the enging jurks when driving in low gear with low revs.

the car struggles to roll when left in second gear with no peddles touch it just jumps jerks and nearly stalls.

my head lights on idle get brighter and duller as the engine revs up and down up and down.

am confused

what is wrong with my car LOL.

and i got mayo on my oil filler cap not loads just a littlegive it a wipe and run the engine it don't come back

one mor thing i have noticed is when you turn enging off you hear a big sharp short hissss that is load but lasts a second like have ing an air line and putting the nozzle for a quick blast.

What sort of voltage are you getting across the battery? If the alternator reglator is donald ducked then it can do all sort of weird things to the engine managment. You should have no more than 14.5v across the battery with the engine running, and 13.5v with the engine stopped. That hiss could be the vacuum tank, my veccy B V6 used to do that when you shut the engine down.

well just had a m8 look at the car (sparky) and he says it sounds like there is no bent valves at all he said apart from the hunting very slight hunting its runs perfect. he said whats the engine like for the lifters mebe beeing to full or stuck down or somatt there for causing the valves to be open etc.. if that makes sense

5 w 40 i put in when i did chane on satruday as per the suppliers recomendation

mine is simular to that but drops lower and then resets.

like its gunna stall then idles bk to normal idle but hunts very very slightly

Ok offical update.

removed all 4 spark plugs today did compression test 12.5bar spot on

so not a compression problem just a numpty doing the test hahaha

changed the fuel filter and air filter etc..

too the tb off and the inside of the intake manifold was 1/4 inch thick in oil.
took intake manifold off cleaned that and the t/b put it all back together with some instant gasket paste 😃 now when my car is idling its perfect got power etc..etc..

now when my car is in motion the revs stick and 1500rpm when the car comes to a dead stop and eingine still runing revs at normal idle.

no matter weather the car is in gear or not the revs will not drop down below 1500rpm when the car is in motion but its ok when car stood still.

do an ecu reset [unplug battery] and dont take her over 3k for about 30 miles

sounds like your ECU is still relearning to me

After seeing this looks like the veccys being stripped and cleaned on sunday. you manage to sort the idle problem after the clean?? notsure.gif

Well its back.

So let me fill you in with the story from the last time i posted.

My friend came round and did a compression test he remove all 4 spark plugs at the same time then took the compression of each chamber and got 12.5 over all 4. ( were as i was doing it buy taken 1 plug out putting tester in then replace plug and move to next chamber so i guess i was wrong lol)

any whoo after that we took the throttle body off and intake manifold off cleaned it all out and everything intake had quater of an inch of oil init.

so after we did that and put it back together car ran better for a week now am back to my car with lack of power and juddering NOW and again not all the time 1 minuate you can drive for 5 mins and its perfect next time it can be a right pig.

now took it to a garage bearing in mind that on the 9th on January i put new timing chain and oil and filter. now yesterday 3rd of feb my dipstick was on minimum. from max. the car is a little smoky (white)

my m8 who works at the garage said its breathing very heavy took oil filler cap off and you could feel the pressure hitting my palm. now he said its either a blocked breaker under the rocker? or basicly engine shagged ( so i am assuming piston rings).

what is wrong with my engine i dont know its running lean very lean killed my 3 week old spark plugs ( now replaced) so any help would be 100% greatfull oh and there are no eml lights on at all and op-com gets no faults

Im reading this now and thinking oh crap. I had the same problem as you can only cleaned out my intake manifold yesterday. now its fine, no idle problem and theres a bit more power about the car.

But my oil was low and TB and air intake pipe was dirty with a coffee coloured gunk, cleaned all off with brake and clutch and refitted. theres some pictures of my TB on here all manky (i'll find it and repost)

NOW my problem is a it needs a new back box AND a 3 month old exaust flex i fitted is blowing. its one problem after then next with this car. feels like the car is doing this to me everytime i try and fix it! :upyours:
