Re: Purge Valve?

doubt a filter would make much differance? why not drill a hole in the end of you air fitler on you induction pipe and plumb it into that so it is sucked into the intake??
I've just woken up and this is exactly what I thought of! I'm glad you thought that too Neil. It was either this suggestion or remove the TB and drill/ream a hole and fit a brass take off pipe, but modifying the intake pipe seems the safest option.
Right, now we're onto this, would this would this venting to atmosphere have helped towards my poor starting when hot? In the above link explaining the EVAP system, it mentions that you may experience a codes P0440 to P0449 in the event of a leak in the vapour system. Would this be a leak before the purge valve or could it be after the purge valve too?
If this was a known factor and deemed to be not very important, you could turn off this parameter in the ECU could you not? Then you wouldn't get a code and you'd be none the wiser to it like myself possibly??
Do you get what I mean? Also, when I do get this stumble on start up, I do get a lot of fuel vapour smell from under the bonnet.
