trustin me to do that might be worse than trustin a cat beside a fishbowl, lol. btw, was lookin at the dbilas website, is it a good idea to get the 2.4 inlet manifold wen all that ill have done is the sports panel filter and the precat removed? i noticed in another thread vocky sed after cams and gas flowed head. would it make much difference?

it is better to get the head work done including cams before u put the 2.4 manifold on

Just a quick update on the IAT relocation. I moved the sensor to inside the box and took it for a spin got it warmed up then booted it in 3rd to see if it made any significant difference with my a/f ratio. The answer is NO. no difference so thats a shame but worth a try anyway.

I had a 2.4 manifold fitted with only pre cat removed egr cheater and a burt intake and k&n pannel filter and didn't get on with it. I would think its probably a better mod after cams and/or head work. You seem to lose torque with them.

shame it did nuthin, kinda unexpected tbh. so the manifold is more the last thing on the list. btw air filter box lookin good with that sealer stuff, is it up against the bonnet then?

Yea its kind of a last job after all the other mods. Its a shame the dbilas inlets are stupidly expensive, you would think that in these economic times if they put a reasonable price on there parts they would shift loads of them :crazy: .

Yea the knock on nearly meets the underside of the bonnet. i didnt want to get too close just incase i drop the bonnet one day and it puts a nice crease in it!

shame it made no difference it would have been a good easy mod maybe if you did it and reset the ecu it might make a diff notsure.gif

yep i too didn't really like the 2.4 mani job, lost bucket loads of torque, however i did notice the difference when overtaking/breaking the law! going 60+ with a good bit of juice felt good, but you'd have to constantly risk losing your licence to reap the benifits.

i was gonna take it off but the cam chain went, saved me a job eh!

since you loose so much torque from changing to 2.4 mani whats the point in changing
it ? sounds like quite a few change back ? when does it become useful changing it whats the
diff apart from a loss of torque ? notsure.gif

i think the problem is the ecu doesnt like it in theory it should work but not with out different software which i think one of the members is working on which will be very interesting if they suceed

Now i feel a tw@ i didnt do that and mayby i should of. ill have a go tomorow and test it out. I havent had the battery off for a while so my induction kit might work a bit better with it reset too 🙂

This ECU is so sensitive though

u change the air flow or fueling then expect the ecu to settle down after a hundred miles

No i didn't notice a difference with it. Not with the wideband anyway. Would be interesting to see what would hapen if you were to try and change the reading of it somehow mayby carefully selected resistors or a pot to give it a colder reading dunno..
