Idle dropping to 500rpm, Need Help badly!!

Right guys, time for me to rack your brains once again!! notsure.gif

After the problem i highlighted is this topic, and by your recommendations, I've changed the EGR Value and fitted a Cheater + blanking plate and working great. Just changed my CTS 10 mins ago and WOW the cars so much smoother and car seems more responsive :thumbup: So thanks for the help on them little items that can make a BIG difference.

.......But the same problem is STILL there! lol

Idle still dips to 500rpm them coming back upto normal idle. ( But must say it dosent sound a ruff when it dips!) So i have no idea what it could be, although i have a 'Creaking' coming from the left side front wheel. sounds like a ungreased joint of something. i'll try and upload a sound clip if i can capture it. Never i have so many problems with a Vauxhall car and i've had 4!! lol

i reckon it is a small air leak

check all your vacuum pipes such as the evap pipe & brake servo

Hi guys, i know its been a while. feel bad saying that. lol but managed to get hold of a nice warm unit to look at my car in tonight. I still have onboard what mike said above about the vacuum pipes, but is there anything else i could check while i get the chance?

clean throttle body out if u have not already done it

there is no sensor to control idle

what is the idle speed when u start her up from cold

about 1000ish, then drops back to normal when warm. but even when cold she still dipps to 500.

be interesting to look at the sensor read outs when cold

I'm sure Vid had a similar problem with his Vec C, It turned out to be a faulty o2 sensor just after the cat. (I'm sure I've already posted this but I cant find it, if I have please forgive my pea roast))

problem is rushy neither lambda's will not be active until 2 or 3 minutes after cold start as they have to warm up first but maybe this might shed some light on it

remember rushy various respected members on this forum believe the rear lambda to not affect fueling, though i am not one of em 😛

well i'll crack on tonight and check my lines. see if there a problem there, is there a chance is could be timed wrong?

nah not on idle. lumpy around 2-2.5 grand sometimes. just getting on my danglys now. lol

It's all majic to me mate dunno..

Just been flicking through one of Vids threads on Vec c and Benny mentioned something.

Whats going on!!! Is anyone else having a problem with the forum? It keeps timing out when I hit "submit" hence my repost instead of edit.

so looks like it could be a timing / crank problem after all? things will be going over my head if it is. thanks for looking on vec c Rushy. going to go down shortly and take a look, just got one of these new fangled iphone things so i'll keep updated while on the task. there isnt really a way to check the sensors or timing without to much messing about is there.
