John don't get a sleeve fitting added at that point :thumbdown:

get a very short flexi welded to the cat and a 2 bolt flange added between the new flexi and middle box, worked a treat on my sri150 :thumbup:

Thing is Neil, the cone on the end of the downpipe doesn't seem to fit properly into the flared end of the Milltek so its always leaked. I will ask them about it though.

had exactly the same problem, I cut the flange joint off, welded on a short flexi and a two bolt flange - job done 😃

you could even make the flanges yourself as you did a great job of the 3 bolt flanges the other year :thumbup:

I had the exhaust repaired this morning. All good now. But.....I did have another bit of bad news. My super duper Milltek is dead in the centre section. Its as hollow as an empty can. All the wadding has been burnt away and blown out the back! I'm a little bit miffed to say the least. Looks like a new centre section at sometime.

No point in going back to Milltek as the exhaust wasn't designed for a supercharger. The materials used in an exhaust for NA applications are different to what would be used in a turbo/supercharged application. The matting is very different between the two.

The main thing is that the irritating blow is gone and that'll do me for now.

Glad the blow is sorted is this fail due to the heat then?

Does it just mean it is not resonated now?

That's about the size of it Simon. There's nothing around the perforated pipe that runs through the centre box to absorb the noise. I'm wondering if this has an effect on perfromance. The box has to fill with gases before going out the back now.

I wouldnt have thought you would drop any bhp, as with been forced induction the back pressure is is not as required as a NA ?

Very disappointed at the moment and loosing the love. Milltek were very unhelpful and weren't interested in my problem. Jon said that there would be no effects to performance and if I could live with the noise then leave it alone.

I've spent so much money now and its getting boring throwing money at something that I'm not driving much and not happy with.

you need to go for a nice long drive and enjoy it :thumbup:

I'm with Jon, if you can live with the noise then don't worry, my vx220 sounded a bit loud with no baffles :oops:
