Bloody Tree!

Spent a good 3 hours giving the car a good going over this afternoon after I got up. Went inside for my tea, came out for work, and the car is covered in tree sap :evil:

I've been able to wipe a lot of it off before I came to work, but it's going to be in exactly the same state tomorrow when I park on my drive.

The tree isn't even on our property, it's on the street, but it's got that big, the canopy is now covering our garden, and dripping sap all over mine and the wife's car. Can I ring the council and get them to do something about it?

It's fucking massive! It's taller than my house.

This is the bare bones of the tree last winter, but it's gotten massive this summer

anything on your property you are legally intitled to cut back, unless it has a presivation (sp) order attached to it.

The deeds to the road or the properties around the area state that certain trees must stay unless it is causing damage to your propoerty

Cheers Roger, I'll have a look at the deeds in the morning. It's one side which is over handing into our garden, but the branches are probably 40-50 foot in the air.

The tree is also blocking light from entering the front of the house, so I'll speak with the Council on Monday, and see if they will at least entertain the possibility of them coming and maintaining the tree.

Tree sap is bloody awful. Normally street force are pritty good. My Dad had a simialr issue and they sorted the tree out.

Just spoke with the council, got my reference number, and someone will come out in the next 4 weeks to inspect the tree, and advise what can be done.

they got to do health & safety risk assessments to ensure the workforce dont injure themselves climbing up the tree lol

Got a phone call on Thursday, and the job has been logged into the system, so they'll be coming out to cut the tree back in the next couple of weeks.

I purchased a cover for the Veccy when I started going away for months at a time.
Can be a pain to fit and remove but worth it to keep it free from sap and bird crap etc

I'd rather spend 10 minutes each morning and evening fitting/removing one of these, than 5 hours each week having to remove that horrible tree sap.

At least they are cutting it back, The only issue i have found with covers is that it tends to attract unwanted attention.

Well it's started again! Spent this afternoon cleaning this car, and by the time I came to work 3 hours later, it's bloody covered in sap. :thumbdown:

Just been outside and poured 2 buckets of warm water over the car......no tree sap 😃
