a difference i can see between them, one has this hole in it like an oil feed at the far end (this is true on the real ones too, not just something weird in the pic) notsure.gif

having a weird problem - near the oil cooler there is what I assume is a grounding point, with 2 parts being grounded, one from the wiring loom and the other (a big diameter cable) from the top of the gearbox. I had disconnected these to get to the oil cooler.
The problem is when I've put them back the engine doesn't crank, only a loud (louder than when the battery is flat) click and the crank moves a few mm. The engine cranks if I disconnect these from the chassis... what's going on?

So if I understand correct; your engine does not crank properly when you connect your main chassis groundwire to the engine/gearbox, but it does crank when this is disconnected???

I solved it by grounding to a different place, the stud of the point i was talking about was turning 🙁
I think it might have been grounding itself through the break/clutch fluid lines :o they got a bit hot 🙁

Well, consider yourself lucky that all those start amps did not seek a path through your ECU wiring. Will not be the first ECU that burned out due to faulty main ground wire... :thumbdown:
Like said in the VX forium, chassis ground is just a rivnut with spacer, so tighten that good!

Do you still have a source for new X2 and X3 connectors? I need a pair for my swap project...

damnit, oil leaking out of one of the oil cooler hoses has split :upyours:
anyone got a spare one? I suspect that it would be a long lead time part to order 🙁
I will try to take it to a local hose place tomorrow to see if they can fix it but if anyone has one please yet me know it will help me out big time

Well done :clap: how the mapping going? Did you rig a pot box up?

mapped at 220bhp, was on the RR when the HGF so could go further. Now it has ported saab head and the saab cams so hoping to get it going quite a bit more.
dyno dynamics rr be v interesting to see how it compares to courtenay

8.5 bar is 123 PSI wow I noticed mine goes well above 100psi

Had a look on the run to work and it showed @128 psi at about 6700rpm

Mine doesn't go over 8.5bar but my idle is about 6bar
i.e. your 68psi (4.7bar) is quite a bit lower at idle.
What could this be?

Were you unhppy with the oem coil pack arrangement you had?

it worked fine
but oem coil pack doesn't fit in saab head without a lot of butchery

hi rik just wondered if you changed over to the ford coil pack while you were using megasquirt, as i need to know whether i need a 20vf capacitor or would our engines already have one for our coil packs! there is one showing on the z22se wiring diagram, but i dont know if its suitable.
