Some advice please !

Thanks vocky, I am still getting the throttle body motor fault. I remover the cat and checked for blockages-no luck !
eml is on at tickover, once you rev it to about 2000rpm the tc light comes on and it runs rough. I think it is overfueling and now believe its a ecu fault. One strange thing tho is the airbag light came on the same time the engine problem started.
I am trying to source a ecu kit-would love to try one before buying, just to make sure that it cures it.

Hi all, I have today fitted a ecu kit. Still has the same problem, Car starts and idles fine but as soon as you rev it the revs rise then the tc light comes on and the engine runs rough (this is when the car is stationary).
Switching the ignition of then back on the engine will idle fine (with tc light out) but as soon as you rev it the fault happens.(and the tc light comes back on)
Am I right in thinking the tc works by creating a missfire when it detects wheelspin ?
What could cause it to enter the missfire mode even when the car is stationary ?
Is there any way of dissconecting the tc system ? So that I can rule it out ?

err i said disconnect the TC fuse and see how u get on

could be a faulty abs sensor

waste of money on ecu m8 as i very much doubt it is that

14.3v at tickover- havn't checked output at higher rpm- will do tho.
I have pulled the tc (NO 35) fuse out-made no difference.
I have disconnected the multipug from the abs pump-no change.
Really carn't think what else could be causing this problem !
any ideas ???
My local service dept was as helpfull as ****

it is going into limp mode by the sounds of it

u need to book it into vxhall or get someone with a decent code reader

i am willing to have a look but i am in birmingham

i can plug in my reader and i got spre parts for you to try

thanks mike- wouldn't want to chance bringing it to birmingham tho. think i will have to book it in locally and see what the tec says. I just worry that as it's already been on twice and i have changed the faulty parts, if i will ever find the cause of this problem. If i need any parts- i will keep you in mind. I will be able to build another car by the end of this !!! lol

i would book it in to vxhall and ask em how much to fix it, u get a warranty then as well

problem with local garages is some of em havent the equipment to accuratly read codes

on this engine a lot of codes are not picked up by cheap readers especially those used by RAc & AA

if there is no sensor diagnosis then go on to mechanical such as compression, exhaust, timing

Alright fella, i'm currently trying to find the answer to the exact same problem too, although mine isn't giving the symptoms untill around 5500rpm and then exactly the same, throttle does barely nothing and engine sticks to around 3000rpm tc and eml light come on also........ my airbag light is on too but i know why that is on, it is because the half leather seats have been removed for gsi trim with no airbags....... so have to change the airbag ecu for none side airbag model ecu

i also have opcom and i have read the codes and it throws up electronic throttle malfunction

when the car goes into limp mode the TC light comes on as well as the eml

electronic malfunction for the TB could be the actual TB, air leak in manifold, wiring and the accelerator pedal

according to that link the TC came on due to a leak on the inlet manifold

i am just saying when the eml comes on so does the TC when it goes into limp mode and it runs like crap

you should try clearing up a p1602 - kncok system ram malfunction on a corsa B

says replace ECU when infact it was aftermarket HT leads

u know i diagnosed my blocked pre cat using TIC yesterday and it said replace the ECU as well lol

Hi guys, think i will have to give up on this car, shame cos the bodywork and interior are in good condition. Don't know what else I can do.

Thanks mike, i have indeed removed that metal pipe (tb-egr). Pretty sure its seal is ok- but i will check again-just to be sure. I am not lucky enough for something as simple as a o ring to be causing this fault. Thing is on the day the fault occured, i had driven about 100 miles and the car never missed a beat. Will check o ring and post findings. Thanks.

just found mine has a very slight leak using that VXW coolant blanking plug

The Z22SE looks to be very sensitive when it comes to the vacuum system on it, any air leak seems to make it run like a sack of poop...
