That Scratch!!

The car went in last night for the paint work to be repaired. Haven't heard anything today so fingers crossed it'll be all okay for tomorrow and it'll be a good job.

The car is back. It was raining when I picked it up and couldn't find any faults with it all covered in water. After an hour it stopped raining and I went out and waffled the rear bumper and spoiler.

All I can say is the car will be going back tomorrow. There's dust in the spolier paint and the lacquer has run in several places around the bumper. Not a happy man at the moment. I'll be on the phone at 8.30am when they open.

Also, where the brick work in the carpark damaged the spoiler, the repair has pin holes in it.

I was reading the website tonight that they offer a 2 year warranty on all work carried out. I don't think that i'll have any bother but i'm just a little disappointed after the confidence that I was given when I went for the quote.

I'm always being told that i'm too cynical and that I should give people a chance. Well I did and i'm left feeling like this. Bollocks!!

What do people expect though, when this is what happens. It pisses me off how companies now days seem to take little or no pride in the work, and are all about maximum profits. I've got no issues paying more money for a job well done, first time around, rather than pissing about taking stuff back etc until the job is done correctly "in the end".

So for the half arsed job they've done on yours John, they'll have to do it all again, when it could have just been done right in the first place.

They had it 2 days and I said that if they needed it longer then let me know. They could have had it a week and I would have been happy.

Just got back, he's doing it all again and if i'm not happy then he's going to refund the money.

He did appear to be embarassed about it and did apologise. Its going in again next Wednesday after work. I've told him not to rush.

If he was embarassed about it, then why did he let you have it back if he knew it wasn't upto a standard of work HE was happy with??

Conversation this morning,

Me, "C'mon! I thought you said that I wouldn't find any problems?"

Him, "No, I was hoping that you wouldn't find any problems!"

WTF??

I'm a little dubious as to how its going to be next week. The fact that he's offered to refund the money if I'm not happy doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence. If I told my customer in the aircraft industry that if I couldn't get there firewall bulkhead correct they could have their money back, I would be fired from a large cannon into a burning tub of oil! And never work in the aero industry EVER again!
