As some of you already are aware, I acquired a scratched wing and door on Sunday at the Courtenay 25th anniversary event. A small boy went past on his bike and caught the car with his handle bars. His dad has agreed to pay for the damage so today I went to the local paint repair shop 'auto cosmetic centre' in Bristol where i've had work done before on Christines car. The chap that I dealt with is a fellow Vauxhall owner with an Astra Coupe Turbo.
He had a look and said that it wasn't a case of just a local repair as there would be no way to get a correct match. The scratch is staggered across the front wing and the start of the door panel and it has gone down to base coat. The result of this is that the front wing and door now have to be painted. Cost = £320!! :o
They'll need it for 2 days and he's guaranteed a perfect job. I called the chap up in Norfolk today and spoke to his wife to break the news. She wasn't at all suprised and just asked me to send them the quote and they would arrange to pay the garage. She said to go ahead and book the car in for the work. They are going to put the cost through the business account.
